I want to read this book but just realized that this is book #4 should I read the first three books first before reading this one? I just don't want to start reading and be totally confused or have the feeling that I am missing something that I could've gotten from the previous books.

Yes you should read Axel first cause you'll prob. be wondering what happened to get them that way.
Yes def. If you read this one before all the others you will be totally lost i feel.
You definitely need to read these in order. The series of events that happens in the first books leads up to the books at the end of the series. All fabulous books and definitely worth the read!~amie
The whole series is available right now in a box set for .99 on amz.
I would read the books in order. There are things that happen, some are sad. It may be a little confusing if you read them out of order. I just finished Locke, the last book in the series and the best one of all. The first book is called Axel.
