New Moon discussion

The book that I read as my choice book for the summer reading assignment was Twilight: New Moon. Going into this book, I was excited to read it because it is apart of a series and was the second book of the Twilight series. The book before this one was very eventful and I was giddy to begin reading New Moon. The book is about a girl named Bella in high school who is in love with a vampire. Suddenly, he leaves her and she is deeply saddened for months. She must cope with the fact that he is gone to move on with her life, which she begins to accomplish with her best friend, and he has a secret that wears their friendship and eventually brings them back together. At the end, Edward is put in a situation that Bella must save him from. I enjoyed this book very much. It starts off kind of slow while Bella goes through her stage of depression and loneliness, but eventually it becomes extremely interesting and a lot of things are going on that will grab your attention. Bella’s father was a big influence on some of her decisions and feelings throughout the book.
I recommend reading the first book of the series before you read this one, because the background knowledge is important and the first one is a great read. If you enjoy reading fiction and romance, you will love this book, it has all of that in one! The book is obviously very unrealistic, so if you steer clear of fantasy-type books, this is not the one for you. I would say that this is a series where I jumped right into the following book because the author leaves you curious and wanting more. I hope you enjoy reading New Moon as much as I did!
