Coraline is a middle grade book written by the one and only Neil Gaiman. If you've read it (or want to read it), post your thoughts here.

I had to read this book for a class that I took called Literary Pirates. It was a pretty cool class that focused on text to text and text to movie adaptations, and this was one of the assignments. We had to read it and watch the movie.

After I read it, I was kind of upset with myself for never picking it up earlier. I freaking loved it. I'll have to re-read it soon, and it's definitely one I'll share with my kids (if I ever have any).

Is anyone planning on reading this in honor of Halloween?

Susan | 169 comments Coraline is certainly a unique story! I really liked the movie too. Great for Halloween.

I had to read it and watch it for my Literary Pirates class during my senior year of college. I completely loved it! :)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments I quite enjoyed the book. I might have preferred the movie though, oddly enough.

Honestly... I have no idea why the professor named it that. We were the guinea pig for the class, and I only took it because she was my favorite professor. We ended up reading a lot of books based on historical events, retellings, books loosely based on classics, and did a lot of book to movie comparison work. It ended up being one of my favorite classes.
