Challenge Corner discussion

First, there were ten—a curious assortment of strangers summoned as weekend guests to a private island off the coast of Devon. Their host, an eccentric millionaire unknown to all of them, is nowhere to be found. All that the guests have in common is a wicked past they're unwilling to reveal—and a secret that will seal their fate. For each has been marked for murder. One by one they fall prey. Before the weekend is out, there will be none. And only the dead are above suspicion.

Just some early comments here.... (view spoiler)[Honestly I don’t do well with multiple POVs like this, or multiple main focus characters like this, so ummm......this is going to be interesting. I’m also not in love with her writing, which I expected due to my long history do not loving the writing in books from this era. But I do think it could grow on me...... (hide spoiler)]

Pages 23-111

(view spoiler)[ I figured once I got through the first part that I’d get sucked in.....but wow. I’m REALLY sucked in holy moly. I don’t like any of the characters (and I don’t like that I feel like I don’t know any of them) but the plot is interesting and fast paced. I might actually get to finish this tonight omg

(view spoiler)[ Oh my God.....it’s been a long time since I was spooked by a book like this. Not like it’s scary.....it’s just....thrilling. You never know what’s around the bend except MORE murder and you and the characters can’t to a damned thing to stop them. I have chills! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ That was.....SO amazing. There were a few things I had an idea of but it wasn’t like a concrete guess. In the end 95% of this was a surprise and it blew me away. I really got sucked into the story and characters’ drama and the writing ended up hooking me too! Amazing read, I will definitely be reading it again omg (hide spoiler)]

I listened to the audiobook version this time and fell in love with it. Great performance by the narrator. Excellent story by the writer. I forgot again how it happened on the island, or who the killer was, but loved hearing the solution in the epilogue. Great Agatha Christie!!

I luckily have never heard any spoilers about this book, so I was really excited to read this. So far this book is off to a great start. It seems like someone is taking it upon themselves to judge those who have caused the death of someone else. I can't wait to find out who is doing this and why! I also love how willing all of these strangers were to go on a vacation to a lavish mansion owned by someone they don't even know. (hide spoiler)]

I can't believe Rogers is still working despite his wife's death. The others should understand if he isn't feeling up to his job at the moment. He doesn't seem too devastated by his loss. Maybe he is just in shock. (hide spoiler)]

I am still not entirely sure who the murderer is and there are only three characters left! I am trying to decide if it is Vera, if everyone is involved and killing one another, or if someone faked their death and has killed the others. Agatha Christie is not giving us any obvious clues to who is could be. Luckily this book is short, so I will definitely know the ending soon. (hide spoiler)]

So honestly, I did not love this ending. It seemed to obvious to have the judge be the one to judge other people and their wrongdoings. I didn't choose him because I didn’t think Agatha Christie would choose such a cliché ending. I really thought there was going to be a more exciting ending. This made me rate it lower than I originally wanted to. 3/5. (hide spoiler)]
