SIA Showcase for Readers and Writers discussion

Hey, everyone. I'm Mark, and I started writing novels a few months ago. I've written poetry, lyrics, short fiction, non-fiction, and movie scripts, but now I'm tackling what I really wanted to do since I was 17.
I think I was afraid of failure. I definitely lacked discipline. I also didn't feel confident in writing dialogue to progress a story. Writing and producing three movies gave me the confidence I needed and inspired me to get back to what I wanted to do.
I'm writing in several genres: cozy mystery, pulp western, pulp adventure, supernatural horror, and I guess whatever else makes me happy at the time.

I'm halfway through my next book, a grim and violent pulp western. Kind of balancing the scales after writing the cozy.

I don't want to be pegged or corned or slave to any genre, and I don't expect too much crossover between the audiences for what I do, but either way, I'm excited to be writing long fiction, finally.
