Ellie | 1 comments Hi guys I am new here, but I have been looking for a novel about scribal schools in Mesopotamia (preferably Babylon, but cant be too picky ;) ) and I haven't been successful. If anyone knows of anything good I would really appreciate suggestions.

What the hell....?? This spam is so far beyond our rules that I am practically speechless.

Azaria Frost (azariafrost) | 8 comments Wow - specific! :-)

I hope this isn't considered spam - I've written a novel set in ancient Mesopotamia, also encompassing Babylon. There is a character that happens to be a scribe ;-)

I just thought it might interest you, as you're looking for books specifically in this region / time period. No worries if not. Good luck finding what you're looking for!

Whore of Babylon by Azaria Frost

Terri | 19576 comments All good. :) Not spam if a member has asked for a recommendation and an author believes their book fits the request.

Now i'm kind of curious what the 'so far beyond our rules' spam looked like.... ;)

Terri | 19576 comments haha. Sure. ;)

Author just went too far plugging herself. PLugged her book (which was okay) then told people if they want information about this topic (covered in her book) they should contact her via her private email. Then left her email address.

Pretty dodgey stuff.

I've had that happen to me. I had already read the author's books though, but took it that he was trying to be helpful.

Judith Starkston | 76 comments She Wrote on Clay by Shirley Graetz is the book I can recommend on this topic. Only book I've read about Mesopotamian scribes--in this case a female one. Very detailed history and an interesting tale.
