Marlise (mawz76) | 171 comments Please nominate a book for our October 2019 Read.

Since it is Halloween Month let's select a book that is perhaps a little more on the scary, or thrilling, or maybe sci-fi side. Anything that you think would be apt for the month of October. It may take some searching, but here is a handy-dandy link to the complete list...

https://www.1000bookstoread.com/

Poll will be created after 10 nominations or on Friday the 13th (whichever comes first), please only 1 book nomination per person.

Bryan--The Bee’s Knees (theindefatigablebertmcguinn) | 141 comments I'll nominate something everyone but me has probably read:

Carrie by Stephen King

Marlise (mawz76) | 171 comments Thanks Bryan! It's one of my favorite King books!

Janet I haven't read Carrie yet either. Mustich has an entry in his book called "A Gathering of Ghosts" on page 633, right after the entry on Edgar Allen Poe, that might be helpful when looking for nominations. His ghost story list:

Poetry and Tales by Edgar Allen Poe
The Case of Charles Dexter Ward by Lovecraft
The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
Old House of Fear by Russell Kirk
Lost Boy Lost Girl by Peter Straub
Topper by Thorne Smith

My favorite spooky story is The Haunting of Hill House, but since I have already read it, I nominate:

Old House of Fear
