I read From the Memoirs of a Non-Enemy Combatant, Finn, Survival in Aushwitz, & The Mosquito Coast. My favorite was From the Memoirs of a Non-Enemy Combatant. This book was easy to read, interesting, & funny. It's also intriguing because I'm not really sure what's going on. I may keep reading it, but I'm not sure yet.

The title I read this class period were, The other Wes Moore,The Ghost Road, Dark Star Safari, Nickle and Dimed. The most interesting of the 4 was The Other Wes Moore. This book, written by Wes Moore, was about the author who shared a few too many coincidences with a inmate. This supernatural connection would lead him to do interviews and meetings with the family and friends of the convict and they too would begin to become friends.

Unwind

Unwind is so good that I didn't pick any other books up. It's about a world just like ours except parents can decide to have their child "unwound." Being unwound means that you are taken apart to pieces and your pieces are donated so that you are "living" but spread across tons of different bodies. The book follows three people who have all found out they are being unwound and are on the run for their lives. While on the run, the all find each other at the same moment causing a huge chaos on the highway

Gone Girl- I like this book the most because it is more of a mystery and pays attention to detail. From what I've read, the characters and situation stands intriguing and makes the reader want to keep reading.

"THE BELL JAR" by Sylvia PlathThe Bell Jar
i really enjoyed this book, so much so that i read it the whole time. Set in the early 60s The Bell Jar follows Esther Greenwood, a New York hopefull who seems to going under, perhaps for good. Plath's sensible writing sytle masterfully luers the reader in to Esther's decent into madness making The Bell Jar an extrordinary and intruiging book.

I read gone girl, columbine, and from the memoirs of a non-enemy combatant.
My favorite one was Gone Girl. Nicks dialogue really intrigued me and since there's a movie coming out, I'm very anxious to read it. The setting is also present day, and my last book was in the 80s so I am glad to have a different storyline with another time period.

I like Life In Prison the most. It tells the story of a man on death row at San Quentin correctional facility. He talks about the life of those who will do what they have to do to survive on the streets and in prison. Stanley Williams knows exactly what it means to be tough.

The Weird Sisters The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves, and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History A Northern Light Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six M.I.T. Students Who Took Vegas for Millions 21: Bringing Down the House, was most intriguing to me. The book is about a group of college students who are able to begin "counting cards" in order to win millions of dollars from Vegas casinos. The combination of a brain strainer and rebellion make for a complex story. I grew up watching the "ocean" movies, the idea of cheating a system or complex planning is a theme that interests me.

I read "head hound on his trail" by Hampton Sides, "for whom the bell tolls" by Ernest Hemingway, "house made of dawn" by n. Scott momad, and "the third policeman" by flann o'brien. I enjoyed the last book the best out of the four, even though it was very creepy and wicked. The narrator is apparently a robber and murderer, and the book is himself telling his story. He tells of his poor childhood, leading into a disturbing life.

I just read one book, Uglies. It's set in a utopian society where people get a surgery to make them 'pretty' at 16 and they get to live in a 'new pretty world' and lead a glamorous life. Tally and Shay are still uglies, and they sneak out at night to explore restricted areas. I think that she get the surgery and find that she isn't satisfied because Shay is influencing the way she thinks about the world

My favorite story I started was Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys. It follows a young girl, mother, and young boy whose house is invaded late at night by Soviet secret police who then arrest the family. They are given 20 minutes to pack their things before they leave hot none of them know what is coming next. I liked it because it was intriguing and immediately started with action and captivated me instead of starting slow with excessive introduction. It also made me identify with the character and made me think I was in her shoes.

My favorite of these books was Stargirl. It deals with a new gir named Stargirl who comes to Mica High School and perplexes all the students. She is like no one theyve ever seen before: she wears crazy costume-like outfits, sings and plays the ukelele at lunch, and says high to everyone she sees even though she has no friends. It is told from the perspective of an onlookng student, a girl named Leo, who struggles with trying to figure Stargirl out. It seems like a story unlike any other I've read before, and very interesting.

My favorite of these 4 is A Night To Remember because I found it the most interesting due to its importance in American History. It is about the night that the Titanic sank and the horrors of that night from many accounts of people that were there.

AUSTENLAND
THE IMMORTAL LIFE OF HENRIETTA LACKS
GONE

Out of he three books, Austenland pulled me in the most. It may be due to its quick start, but right away I felt like I understood who the main character was and her situation. Unlike the other books, this one was very fast pace. It had a very laid back tone. It was conversational and light, which right now I enjoyed. It is obviously not a heavy book and would be good for the more mindless reading. It is a cute book and will grow into girly romantic tale.

50/50: Secrets I Learned Running 50 Marathons in 50 Days -- and How You Too Can Achieve Super Endurance! I was very intrigued by this book to start off with and this books actual content was just as intriguing as it's cover . It is the story of Dean Karnazes running 50 miles on 50 consecutive days. So far the story makes me want to know what will happen next.

I am most interested in the novel Ten Thousand Saints by Eleanor Henderson. So far it's about two burn outs, named Jude and Teddy, who occupy themselves by smoking weed, drinking, and skating. I like the book because of Henderson's style, and the story pulled me in.

I read Brave New Workd, Shooting Kabul, A Wrinkle in Time, and Left to Die.
I most enjoyed Left To Die Left to Die: The Tragedy of the USS Juneau It seems to be an underdog war hero story. I very much enjoyed the writing style of this first hand account of a tragedy of the Second World War.

The books that I read are A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius,
Half of a Yellow Sun, Enclave, and The Hotel New Hampshire. I like A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius the most because the first chapter captured my attention with detailed descriptions and emotions. It is about a boy that lives with his mother and sibling. His mother has cancer and is slowing dying in a painful and disgusting way.

A Wrinkle in Time: The Graphic Novel two books interested me the most: Fallen Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes and A Wrinkle in Time by Madleie L'Engle. I am deciding to read A Wrinkle in Time. It interested me the most because there is a lot of illustration to depict the novel and the story is about a young girl handljng difficulties life throws at her,

this book was the only interesting book that I read. it was about a man who came home to his wife dead. she had fallen out of the apple tree and accidentally died. and then he starts to uncover "clues" to her death.

Perdido Street Station offered a view of the city from an ancient beast on his way back to this place. A writer of science fiction tales, Mieville weaves mystery into his settings and his characters. Will the creature attack the city from the shadows or will he come to redeem it?

Running with Scissors this book was interesting. Right now I've read about a young boy obsessed with his looks, his mom, and being perfect. His family life is dysfunctional. I kind of liked it. I liked it the. Est out of the ones I read.

She's Got Next : A Story of Getting In, Staying Open, and Taking a Shot

She's Got Next is a book about a girl from Arkansas that is trying to get involved in playing basketball throughout her life. She travels all across the country to show her skills. What I really liked about when I read this book is how she describes the game of basketball and how she would influence it.

Paper Towns I a still currently reading Paper Towns and it very good and mysterious. Q is on a mission to find the girl who ran away and he cant stand to be apart from which is Margo but she doesn't know that yet. So I am at the part where she has given him this clue to go to an empty wear-house and is searching for her in the pitch black.

During class today I only read The Fault in Our Stars. It was the first book I picked up and I really enjoyed it so I decided to keep reading. So far it is about a girl who has cancer and she goes to a support group for it and meets a boy named Augustus. I hope to continue reading it. The Fault in Our Stars

My favorite book I read was Stargirl. This book started off as a funny and easy read. It is about a girl named Stargirl who doesn't care what other people think about her. This book looks really good and looks like it is an easy read that relates to the life of a high schooler.

I read The Ghost Road, A Night to Remember,and the Attack. My favorite book was A Night to Remember by Walter Lord. I liked this book because it gives extra details of the night of the titanic accident. It got my attention very early and I didnt want to put it down.

I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore

This is the book I was reading for last quarter. I loved it and it was very interesting so I will keep reading it. It is about people from another planet running from bad guys. It is interesting because it's something that I'm not used to and it's different.

A Northern Light, The Monuments Men, The Weird Sisters, Going after Cacciato.
The book that i enjoyed the most is The Monuments Men. I liked this book because it is about some men who are working in caves and they find a place where Hitler has stashed his treasures that has been stolen. And they try to get it back to the rightful owner.

Jon Scieszka
I liked this book because it was relatable and it brought me back to my childhood. The way he talked about his family and some of the activities they did made me reflect on my past. When he told the short story about him and his brothers breaking the couch I have had moments just like that.

I read the books: The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman, House of Sand and Fog by Andre Dubus III, and Hole in My Life by Jack Gantos. Hole in My Life was the most enjoyable for me. It appears to be about the life of a man who had a strenuous time during his Highschool years, and was imprisoned at the age of 20, where he turned his life around and became a writer. Thus far the author has told stories from his childhood about moving from a criminal infested town in Pennsylvania, to Ft. Launderdale, Floridaz, then to San Juan Puerto Rico, and back to Florida. He started drinking excessively when his family moved to Puerto Rico, and then went back to school in Florida while his family remained there.

The book starts but the character finding a body floating drown river

Columbine is a very unique book with all the behind the scenes of the tragic school shooting back on April 20, 1999. The book has background information on all the people that were affected that day, and information on the two shooters. That day was a very tragic day for that town and for the country. It was unexpected in every way. The boys were ordinary teenage boys, that never showed any signs of anger or concern, which is the worst part.

The Dogs of Babel

This book had a very interesting opener. It talked about a man's wife who had fallen to her death from an apple tree. No one was around to see it happen and it was sad. I believe this book is about finding out her intentions of why it happened.

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?

This book is really interesting as it is really funny and discusses a few of the hardships this girl goes through on an everyday basis in high school. I feel like it is a coming to age novel as she begins to feel more comfortable with herself and insecurities. I would prefer this book to girls who struggle with self confidence or that just want a funny read.

I liked theses books becasue they engrossed my body and mind right by the title. It was about how this girl was a teacher and this sophmore (im guessing) in college are talking about the finals. Perdido was about this scientist that runs into a beast.

"Between Shades of Gray" pulled me in from the very first chapter. The way Ruta Sepetys sets up each chapter leaves the reader hanging, forcing the reader to continue reading in order to find out what might possibly happen to the family next. I read four chapters in 5 minutes. So far, the book is about a family of four--the father is not present in the family. The book opens up with the statement, "They took me in my nightgown." If that sentence doesnt make you want to keep reading then I dont know what will. I cant wait to find out who exactly took them and why the family is being forced out of their home.
