Ken Johnson (author_ken_johnson) | 3 comments I'm Ken Johnson...a culturalist, conflict dynamics professional, and the author of Unbroken Circles for Schools. I have special training in Restorative Justice and certification as a County Court Mediator through the Supreme Court of Florida. I started college at the age of 16 and have a BA in Social Sciences and an MBA. I'm also the Principal Chief of the Florida Tribe of Cherokee Indians.

I live in Florida with my wife as well as our dog (my "editor" who sits by my laptop and re-writes a lot of what I type) and a new foster dog (who helps my "editor").

My book uses my previous teaching experience, as well as my experience in RJ and Conflict Resolution, to provide alternatives to the problems we are now seeing in schools. This book talks about RJ practices and peer mediation. It touches on the issues of economic/racial disparity, the Test-to-Prison Pipeline (a variation of School-to-Prison), bullying, underemployment, and other issues. Presently, we are arresting over 2 million students a year while another 7,000 students each school day drop out (costing us $209,000 per individual in social services).

I look forward to getting to know each of you better as we talk about these complex issues.
