I agree. I personally loved Chloe in the Darkest Powers series, but in the Darkness Rising series she was annoying. Really annoying. I didn't really like the Darkness Rising series, because I was looking foreword to meeting Derek, Chloe and Simon but it was like they barley existed. As if they were just really dumb...

Agreed, I also thought her and Derek assuming that Maya and Daniel were automatically together was just bad, first off I don't think Derek has ever shown that he notices that sort of thing and they had just met them. It felt out of character as if it was another reason to have the relationship between Daniel and Maya be believable. And Ashton and Corey were the only two characters I liked.
Yes - I felt like Ash was one of the best characters as well as Corey and - Hayley. She seemed the most realistic character. I hate Daniel cause all I felt him do was be supportive. I didn't seem him do much of anything else but support. I wish Rafe ended with Maya :'(
Everyone was like one problem right after the other, no problem and would piss off when anyone complained. Hayley - with her bitchiness - was realistic. I liked how Corey exploded here and there, made his character realistic. I loved Ash - he was so awesome.
I disliked the relationship with Chloe and Derek though. From what the other series ended on - he was working on his protective streak. In this last book, he was ON the protective streak and was fairly annoying with the whole LETS MOVE NOW charade and Chloe bossing him about like she's got him all figured out. It looked more like a brother sister relationship to me. Was pretty damn close to Maya and Ash together.
