Where you pop from the lava.

Kairi was on guard duty, midnight.

Enmity had heard that the newbies were popping from the lava like weeds, and she knew that could be bad for her people. Too many Bodha and too few Rakshasa was bad. So she was here to see how easy it would be to control the cave so she could expand her own species. Apparently easier than she thought. Only one lone Bodha girl on duty, and Enmity knew it'd be easy to take her out. A slow smile curved up her teeth, baring her double fangs as she looked in. She allowed her markings and hair to brighten up again, flickering like fire in the dark. The fact that the only current light emanated from the lava could only help her, as she was a nocturnal creature and the little brat Bodha cowered in the daylight like mice. Easy.

"I know you're there," Kairi said, leaning against a rock by the lava. "I wouldn't try it." She was Bodha, yes, for the most part. But sometimes, that bit of her that the Rakshasa had replaced, that came in handy. She was better fitted to the darkness than the others. And better fitted to most everything else, too.

"Oh, darling. Did I say you didn't?" Enmity smiled wickedly, not even moving from her place. "You might not try it, but you are not me. and therefor, you don't control my actions and I can do whatever I want." She knew what the Bodha said about her people, and she wasn't stupid. Or savage, like they said. That statement was thought out and logical. Make THAT savage! She thought victoriously, studying the other girl.

"You have the right to remain stupid. I'm just saying, if you try it, I'll kill you." She folded her arms.

((How should Scourge come in? We can't do the 'switching shifts' thing anymore can we?))

((Maybe he was sent to find where Enmity went, since she's the uber queen? XD))

She glanced over where the Rakshasa was hiding. "Are you going to attack or not? Make up your mind."

((I'm thinking they get in a battle and Scourge interrupts and its bro vs. sis.))

The walls of the cave were illuminated by streams of lava, which flowed outward, away from the large pool of the thick liquid which Scourge knew was inside. He followed the streams, stepping around the jagged rocks that protruded from the ground.

Scourge had been told the Royal Queen of the Rakshasa had seemingly disappeared, which was a bit worrying. Not that Enmity couldn't take care of herself - she'd been strong enough to become Queen, after all - but just making sure she was okay.

Voices echoed towards him - one he recognized - and he stepped further down until he found the source. A Bodha guard was standing near the Rebirthing Pool. The other voice came from the shadows. Scourge folded his arms over his chest - there was the Queen. She could've at least given someone notice that she was leaving.

Kairi stood up, going on guard. Best not get ambushed. She smiled. This was perfect. She could take down a Rakshasa for studying purposes.

"Because standing here is so illegal. Can't I just stand here?" Enmity mock-pouted, staring back at the girl without blinking her odd red and gold gaze. She wasn't afraid. She never had been, and never planned on starting to find out how it felt.

She knew that her people were probably looking for her, and it was only because she knew that fact that she heard the faint, faint sound. There was a good chance it was nothing, but she silently pulled back and went to go see what it was anyway.

"Scourge, right?" She double-checked as she saw the figure, calmly leaning against the wall herself and facing him. "I'll bet they sent you to look for me." She gave an irritated sigh, shaking her head. "Well, make yourself useful while you're here. There's an annoying little Bodha brat guarding the pit, I want you to get her away. Kill her, knock her out, draw her away, throw her back to the Bodha, I don't care. Just move her." She requested. It was also kind of a test for Scourge, seeing just how well he had adjusted to Rakshasa.

"You're on Bodha land. You're out of your territory, out of the neutral zone." She didn't know why she bothered saying it. It was obvious knowledge, and this person obviously was waiting to claim Kairi's life.

She was certain that there would be more than just one. This had to be a calculated attack. She carefully drew her weapons, standing still, listening carefully for any sound, not entirely trusting her eyes. She waited for an attack patiently, the faintest sound.

When Queen Enmity made herself known to him, Scourge gave a small bow out of respect, straightening when she addressed him. He knew they were the same age, but the way she held herself and spoke made it clear what her position was. She ruled over all the Rakshasa with an iron fist, and seemed to enjoy punishing people who stepped out of line.

Scourge wasn't a fan of the way she gave him that order, but he wasn't going to disobey his Queen. "Of course," He said, evenly watching Enmity's two-toned eyes. He bowed again, then ventured down to where he'd seen the Bodha guard.

He waited in the shadows for a brief moment, inspecting the guard. She was standing still, hands gripping her blades. Her hair was a deep blood red that he'd never seen before on a Bodha - it was more like a Rakshasa colour.

A moment later, Scourge stepped out of the shadows, eyes locked on the girl's. He stopped fifteen feet from her, simply watching her, daggers sheathed. His chin was tilted up slightly. "I've been told I have to get rid of you," The corner of his mouth turned up into a smirk, "I hope you don't mind."

She looked at him curiously. "Is the other one planning a sneak attack? I can take on as many of you come at me at any time." She leaned against the rock casually. "You sound familiar. Have I nearly killed you before?" she teased, making a show of her confidence. It normally unnerved and frightened her opponents. "You can do your job. Just don't blame me if you fail."

((I meant, I wanted Riku to pretty much beat Kairi because she realizes that he's her brother and doesn't want to fight him, and then when she's about to get killed he steps in.))

Scourge absently ran his thumb along the hilt of his blade, "I don't think so. She has better things to do." He eyed the Bodha girl with a smirk, amused by her little show of power, "I don't recognise you at all, so if you did attack me it mustn't have been very memorable."

"She does, does she? That must mean you're not worth my time and I'll have to end you as quickly as possible." She began to circle around Scourge, back towards the entrance. "Ah, true, the Rakshasa I attack end up dead. I suppose it would have to be memorable if we'd ever fought."

Shrugging, Scourge turned so he could keep eye contact with the girl, "That's one way you can interpret that, I suppose." He was getting bored of all this trash-talk. But he had to keep at it for a bit longer. With the girl saying all that 'I have to end you quickly' crap, it wasn't much longer until she made her move.

He noticed her moving back to the entrance - was she going to try to run? She seemed too proud for that, but who knew? "You must be an excellent fighter, if you can boast so confidently." Scourge said, tilting his head slightly, "But I'm not convinced, really."

She shrugged. "You're just not high enough on the agenda, really," she said, having trash talked him just so she could put her back to the entrance. She was taking so long with her words only so she could more accurately pursue the larger prey, that Rakshasa he was protecting. "And one can be an excellent liar," she said, with a queer little smile. "And still not convince everyone."

At that, Kairi turned and raced after Enmity, tapping into her skills as a part-Rakshasa to better hunt the queen.

"Well hello, darling. I was wondering if you'd come after me." Enmity mused, walking in a circle around Kairi. "You know, I'm surprised you didn't recognize the little playmate I sent to you. After all, you guys were so close." She smiled wickedly, pausing as she faced her. "Come on now, use that tasty little brain of yours. Think about it...." She taunted.

((Watching something.))

She glared at Enmity. "I was never close with a Rakshasa. You killed everything I held dear."

"Ah, but-" Enmity held up a finger as she leaned against a tall rock. "Scourge wasn't always a Rakshasa. He used to be a puny normal, just like you. Would you like to know his name?" She smirked slightly.

He hands clenched around her sword and she threw herself forwards. "Shut up!"

Enmity easily dodged to the side, laughing. "Aw, do you miss poor Riku?" She clicked her tongue and looked over at Scourge. "Well don't worry. He doesn't miss you. He doesn't even know you, sweetheart."

Her eyes went wide and goosebumps stood out on her skin. "Y-You..." Her eyes went hard and her composure returned. "You were the one to rip him from my hands, his flesh in your teeth. I hate all Rakshasa. Riku is dead. Your lies won't bring him back. My past will not haunt me." She went into an ultimate fighting stance, arm raised as a shield for her body for any fatal attacks. She raced forwards at Enmity, her own body wrapped in flames, flames that flickered with her own doubt, her own fear, her own hatred and pain.

Scourge watched as the girl ran off in the direction of the exit, where Enmity was. He grunted slightly, he'd been looking forward to a bit of a battle. He technically had gone through with the Queen's orders - he'd moved the Bodha away from the pit after all. But he supposed she would've preferred if he'd gotten rid of the Bodha in a more permanent way.

He drew one of his blades and jogged back towards the Queen, where he could hear some echoes of voices. He heard a name - Riku - which sounded very familiar, but he couldn't think of where he could've heard it before. Noticing the Bodha running at the Queen, her body enveloped in flames, Scourge moved swiftly until he was close to the fight. He was confident in Enmity's ability to defeat her little attacker, though he was somewhat interested in the Bodha. He was curious about her supposed fighting skills and wanted to test them out for himself.

She did not notice Scourge, but if he'd heard anything of what had been said, she wished he'd confirm or deny it.

"Look at him!" Enmity's voice lashed out. "Do you despise us so much you don't recognize him? We haven't done a thing to hurt him. He's in one piece. After he changed, he's the one who ate flesh. We didn't jam it down his throat."

She hesitated, mid attack, leaving herself open for an attack, to glance at Scourge. Something flashed in her eyes. Horror. Wonder. Terror.

What is she talking about? Enmity's words made no sense. Was Scourge someone the Bodha was meant to recognize? He narrowed his eyebrows slightly, but didn't say anything yet. He didn't know the Queen's tactics - maybe she was trying to confuse her prey.

In a moment, Scourge realised the Bodha had hesitated, looking at him, and he made a quiet grumbling noise of apprecition. The girl was off guard - Enmity could end her in a single blow.

Enmity darted forward with Kairi's distraction, eyes narrow. It would have been so easy... She wrapped her hand around the Bohda's throat, baring her fangs. What most Rakshasa didn't realize was the power they truly had. They knew they could bring death, but Enmity had figured out the balance between using life and death.

Everyone there knew she could have easily killed Kairi. But she didn't. Mystery was only good for her, it added to the concept of fear she brought. "See?" she hissed, grip tightening. "Don't ever call me a liar again." she threatened in a low voice.

"Now. You go back to your people and tell them what happened here. How Enmity could have killed you-" she tapped a knife to the side of Kairi's throat, "-but I didn't. And you tell them that this is a lesson. I've proven what I can do. You tell them that next time, I won't hold back. I am a queen. I am the queen. And not one of you will survive me." She released her and stepped back, fangs bared.

She stood. Not manipulated. Not frightened. Her eyes took on another hard glance. "Do whatever you wish." Kairi's foot came up in a roundhouse kick, directly across Enmity's face. "I am taking my brother home!" she growled, her sword coming back along with her attack at Enmity. Riku... Riku had to remember her! He had to, now!

None of what Enmity and the Bodha were saying made any sense. They seemed to be talking about Scourge one moment, then the next they were talking about the Bodha's brother or that 'Riku'.

Scourge narrowed his eyes, drawing his blades and running towards the Bodha. As she swung at Enmity, Scourge snaked an arm around her waist and yanked her backward, hoping to get her off balance so he could get some answers from them.

Her foot slammed into the tendon at the joint of his foot, elbow arcing up at his face. His own arms wrapped around her waist, assured her target areas. She spun and twisted free.
"I will save you, Riku!"

"He's not Riku anymore, don't you see?" Enmity sighed, shaking her head as if disappointed as she followed after them. "Now? He's Scourge. Nothing can ever change that, you know. He doesn't remember you. You're not going to magically snap him back to a past life where he'll try to kill me to save you. He is going to try and kill you, unless I tell him otherwise."

"If I can return from the Rakshasa," she whispered, "He must too!" She darted back, putting her swords forwards at the both of them.

Scourge ducked under the Bodha's elbow and he grunted in annoyance. 'I will save you, Riku'? She said it to him, but with another name. Was the girl insane - seeing someone that wasn't there? He stepped away, a blade held in front of him in a relaxed hand. "What the hell are you talking about?" He scowled at the Bodha, then his frown deepened as the Queen spoke. She was talking about him - was he this Riku person in a past life? But what did that even mean?

Scourge easily blocked the sword aimed in his direction, before ducking out of reach. The Bodha seemed to know him.. or a version of him named Riku. And the Queen? She knew everything. He looked over at Enmity, "What do you mean?" He was tempted to shout and demand answers from her but he knew better than that. "Does this Bodha.. know me?" Part of him just wanted to pretend he hadn't heard anything, just kill the Bodha and be done with it, but another part wanted answers. Wanted some confirmation of who exactly he was.
