WRITERS' CORNER discussion

Hi so this is my 2nd competition and even though nobody has yet been in my first one I thought I'd make it. Remember I want anyone who can to participate. In this Contest I am going to supply a picture and all you have to do is write a poem about it. You can write whatever you want. This contest is open until Nov. 27th. Here's the picture:

Storm breaks away and the lighting stops kissing the Earth
The rising Sun comes through the crowd of clouds
An opening curtain of light and promises
Colors form in specks, surrounding crystals
Such colors overlap trying to prove they're better
A line, an arch transforms the sky
Leaving others to question how one becomes so beautiful
In the background, the darkness is sneaking
Rain drops begin to pour down
Onto the rainbow of colors, still shining
The rainbow dew in the morning

I lock myself in gloomy sad places, everyday without fail
But I have imagination and I dare to dream
Of a place where the sunlight sets glistening blue waters agleam
A place where the grass is greener and is soft as sand
I would call it my own little Wonderland
The fragrance in the air would smell strongly of past rain
To remind me that some things can wash away pain
I would lay in the sun, in a valley of flowers
Letting time tick by unnoticed, hour by hour
Just after rainfall, a splendid rainbow appears
Sparkling and glistening, like a colorful chandelier
It washes over the valley, painting the world with light
Making me smile and fill with delight
Yet, I have to remind myself that it's all a fantasy
That none of this happens in any reality
But I can still hold an image of my little world

Yes, that was me.
I am that Minnie-Martha-Lu

Now, if you still don't remember
I'll take you to recess
Where I gasped out so loud
You would've thought I found
Something interesting like a clown!

But, it wasn't.
That boy Timmy looked at me said,
"Minnie-Martha-Lu you kid!"
Then that girl named Samantha glower'd,
"Gosh Minnie-Martha-Lu it's only a boring old flower!"

I probably looked at you all in crazed fascination,
"What are you talking about? It's amazing!" I cried in elation

"Well looky here Minnie-Martha-Lu it's brown!"
Said an observant boy from town,
"And ugly too!" cried Miss Louisa Stew

To which I glared, "Oh no it's not!
It's green and blue
Like Wilcon Glue
Orange and yellow
Like a sun's 'hello'
And a purple and pink
That makes you blink!"

You guys all looked at me like I was nuts
That I was making such a fuss
Over nothing but a little plant
And that I still continued to rant!

You all tried to convince me
That what I saw I did not see
Yet what I did see was true
That the flower did have blue
And green
And pink
And all those other things

Or at least, that's how I imagined it
And if it wasn't true, I think I would've had a fit

So, now do you remember?
That hopeless Minnie-Martha-Lu?
The one with that rainbow flower?
The one with the turtle that never cowered?
The one with the weird artistic style?
The one who got easily riled?

So do you remember Minnie-Martha-Lu?

While the glittering sheets of water subside,
The golden sun glances out hopefully.
It strains to be noticed,
Despite the obstruction of the remaining drops.
The light dances along the petals of a lone flower,
Casting brilliant hues on its sad, dejected form.
The flower, drowned in rainbow,
Proves to be the most captivating sight to behold.
When given attention, it blooms and displays its plumage,

I agree. Somehow everything seems more alive when you read instead of write. Strange huh?
