I just started reading Wringer by Jerry Spinelli. I read Eggs, earlier this year. I think Spinelli is a good author and his books are easy to read - appealing to a wide range of readers.
I'm wondering if anyone knows what time period these stories are supposed to be taking place. Maybe from Spinelli's childhood years? I just don't see a pigeon shooting contest (described in Wringer) occuring as a community event today.
