In The Best of Me, Dawson is in Louisiana rebuilding his life; experiencing change and new opportunity's. After leaving behind what he called home, it seem to be easy, after all his family never supported him. Dawson kept to himself! Throughout the book you can sense loneliness. As a result of loosing the love of his life Amanda. Dawson rarely engages with other individuals, and lost all liveliness within his soul. In all honesty I find it weird that after 25 years he has not found love again, he completely shut down. Yes, this book is told in modern time, but I know there's no difference from then & now. The book is filled with numerous emotions and captures what any human being may feel while going through heart break. Dawson will need to come clean with his self and except the reality of the situation.
1)How would you feel if you were taken away from the one you love? 2)Would there be sparks after years of no communication or not?

I would honestly be heart broken. so I can probably understand why he shut down. I probably would be more careful in dating situations. Im not sure sparks would fly, I guess it would depend on the person. But this book sounds pretty interesting. Does he ever get over Amanda and does he ever start communicating?

Many times people deal with love differently. It also affects you differently. Now 25 years I would have gotten over someone i think...however it does depend on the history you have with someone and what that person ment to you.

Sometimes the reality is hard to except. If I was taken away from the one I love I would be annoyed and hurt but, I would try everything to get to him. I mean if he's all I thought about then yes there would be sparks, but if I was trying to get in touch with him and he was ignoring me and I saw him I wouldn't care.
