I liked it. I work in a high school Media Center and this will be an easy book to promote. I understand the criticism that the main character is weak, too dependent on men, etc. However, how many 17 year-old girls are fully independent and strong? Sure it would be great if all teen girls were but the reality is, most are not. Given her background, it makes sense that she is this way. I feel that some of the reviewers are slamming this book based on what they think teenage girls should be and not what many are. I enjoyed the story quite a bit. I maintain a well-balanced collection of titles for teens. I have classics and popular fiction. This title will go out and will have an audience in my library.
I liked it but it was too long with not much going on in the middle. It could have been great at 250-ish pages instead of almost 400. It was the first YA Thriller that I have ever read and because it is YA it is super watered down but for what it was it was an entertaining book
I loved it, didn't understand how anyone could have disliked it! It was amazing, I read through really fast and I didn't think Britt was stupid, she survived pretty well on her own
I read it cause I really like hush hush and I wanted to see if it was any good. personally I like it better than hush hush because in black ice jude has a personality. and u can feel him I guess. but w/ patch he really didn't have a personality he was just there. a shadow for lack of a better word. and hush hush had really potential and it really sucked that he wasn't fully developed in the end of the forth book.that is what I really like about jude he was developed in a way that usually takes more than one book.

and just so you know for next time the title of this discussion is" who LIKES this book" not" who DISLIKES this book"
just saying.
and don't go on about how u can have an opinion. I'm not saying you can't but it would be nice if u stat it somewhere else.tnx.
It was so sad. I was so sad at the end of the book when Jude had to leave and all. SO SAD. ANd then when he came back - oh gods - goddamn the feels...
I was expecting to hate it, because I heard so many bad things about it on booktube. (I don't remember if it was from Kat or Ariel) but I actually really enjoyed this book. Did I love it? No. Is it going to stick with me? No. But was it worth my time? Yes, I think it was.

I LOVED this book!!! It was amazing. plus I loved the ending and how the guy changed and all and how they ended up killing the other guy that he was kind of 'working' with in order to kidnap them. The whole thing was just amazing!!

i agree, patch really didnt have a personailty at all... he was just a character... dark, gloomy, and mysterious.. but still awesome!
I didn't like it but I have a question which is killing me: (if you didn't read the book do not continue reading this)does anyone know what happens to Bear (Korbie's boyfriend)?
I mean, while reading the book I was literally falling asleep (it was pretty boring) so thought I didn't pay enough attention when Becca wrote what happened.
This was amazing and why I love Becca. Now if I'm ever kidnapped his will aways be in my mind. hahaha
I absolutely L.O.V.E.D. this book. I seriously don't understand why everyone has been giving it negative reviews (especially those, who haven't even read it in the first place!) I loved it so so so much and I was in a state of serious shock after I flipped the last page over. The epilogue was completely the end of me.
Thank you, Ms. Fitzpatrick, for yet another great novel!
This book had me guessing right through.I couldn't put it dwn.I wish there was more ..Loved it.Brilliant writing, and a will written story.Keep them coming. .
This was such a great read. I loved every second of it. Especially when the guy at the gas station (forgot his name oops) went along as her boyfriend. The love for this book omg I can't even put it into words. I couldn't get over the general shock I was in after reading it, it was such a good book!! I definitely recommend it. I love most of Becca Fitzpatricks books, they're so creative.
I loved this book! I don't know why it got so many bad reviews. I couldn't put it down. I did feel that the reason for the murders was kind of dumb but overall I loved everything else.
I went into this with really low expectations (due to the polarizing reviews) and came away pleasantly surprised. I get the criticism people have about the unlikable main characters. However, I still really enjoyed my time reading this book. The plot was pretty engaging.
I loved this book and keep reading it over and over again. I never get tired of it, especially the ending(epilogue), it was the best!!! I think this book had such highly bad criticism also because it is highly unlikely that you fall in love with your capturer but I loved the plot anyway!!
Though this might be late but let me gush over the book as well (haha)Like any other newbie in buying books and reading books in a genre I am totally new at, I read the reviews. Similar to what others have said, it has quite a number of negative/bad reviews (which made me feel uneasy about trying to reach out to this book). Nevertheless, I bought and read it and I can say it was a good book.
I like how the plot was (because it was something I haven't encountered just yet) and I am thankful that the main character (Britt - a female) didn't have the "oblivious to most things" characteristic (though she has the "I haven't move on with my ex just yet" characteristic, I think its fair enough since the way they broke up was questionable). I also like how the author gave Britt and her other love interest an ending (because when you read the supposed ending of the story, it just leaves you hanging (and honestly I didn't know what to do with my life after it).
Though there were some things that weren't good, overall it was and hopefully still is a good read :)
