Hello Everyone!!! I will be your captain for this round of Tower Teams. It is my first time to captain but I will have some awesome help from Alysa!I live in Oklahoma with my husband, son, 3 cats and 1 dog. I obviously love to read but I also enjoy doing crafts, drinking wine with my besties, and hanging out with my kiddo.
I do work during the day but I have lots of free time at work to check in so I will be available most of the time!
Can't wait to start reading with ya'll!!
*excited waving*Hellooooo Team Ira!
It's my first time officially co-captaining but some people will tell you that I do it unofficially all the time, lol. I started doing NBRC team challenges in early 2018 and have had many great experiences but this is my first TT.
I live in NYC with my partner (He Who Thinks My Reading Habits Are Ridiculous) and our daughter, who will be 9 on the 5th of November. I mention the date because she was born on my own birthday so we will both be celebrating then!
I work full time, but I'm in an academic library and can be online a lot to check in, especially on weekdays. Also, between my job, NYPL, NetGalley, and randomly buying stuff, in general I can haz all the books.
I am highly competitive. And
Looking forward to this!!

Alysa. Blame her for everything, frankly ;-P

Don't worry we will.
Many of the team names are Latin names for the sins. Ira is spelled correctly; it's the singular nominative form. It is pronounced EE-ra.
It's not an acronym like I.R.A.
Hello Team Ira. You can claim Latin all you want, in my mind I'm still on team this dude and that's cool with me. I'm Allison or Al and I live in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. I'm self-employed with several seasonal businesses, so I'm working insane hours right now, but right about the time TT starts is my "sit on my ass for several months and do nothing but read" season. It's glorious. I can't wait.
Haha, and here I was thinking Ira GERSHWIN!Old Jewish dudes FTW.
I am jealous, Allison, but my time of sitting on my ass will come too!
Welcome M & Allison!! Allison, I wish I had sit on my ass time coming but, alas, I don't. I do however get to listen to audio books at work so I get through a lot of books that way.
Hi Susanne!I know what you mean about over-achieving. Hopefully we will be able reign that impulse in a little bit :)
Hi Team!I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with my husband and two cats. I love to read, waste way too much time on Goodreads, and binge-watch Netflix shows. I'm currently re-watching The West Wing. I work full-time in a medical lab doing patient testing and mostly work days, with some evenings and weekends thrown in. I'm on Goodreads at least a couple of times a day, so I'll always be around.
Susanne I diamond paint as well!! It helps with my anxiety sooo much!! I even got my bestie hooked on it!We will all have to be aware of the reading goals we set because as a team we can get punished for being too over or under our goal!
Welcome Joanne!!
I had never heard of diamond painting before but I just looked up a video. Looks neat! A bit similar to cross-stitch, which is something I do occasionally.
Hey everyone! I'm Wren and I'm a college student. This is my first TT and I mostly read ya, fantasy, and scifi, but I'm working on expanding to different genres. My timezone is PST and I don't have too many classes this quarter so I should be online frequently.
*waves to everybody*@Joanne, nice to finally be on a team with you after having friended you a while back :)

I ask because I am constantly surrounded by college students at work and am interested to see all these differing maturity levels. And you are obviously mature or else you would not be here with us VERY SERIOUS PEOPLE. 🤪
So it looks like we have at least 3 time zones, and at least 3 Canadians! Around Xmas time I will be visiting the Seattle/Vancouver area myself :)

Hello I am M from Vancouver BC. I live with my husband creature and cat overlords. Just wondering if I am the only one who already has a TBR pile prepped and ready? I have a small mountain on space opera books to dive into.
M, a space opera fan! Yay!I have a giant TBR *always* but haven’t done much prep specifically for TT yet. I did pull a couple of very long books with brown covers though.
Attention please!Cat realized that the Mid-October YA BOM, Wilder Girls :
a) has a green cover
b) has genre Young Adult and
c) has been read by me (Alysa) already
So that's an Envy Sin Bingo for *other teams* because C) has to have been read by a member of another team!
BUT: if any of you can read it AFTER people from other teams have read it (assuming no one else already has), *then* Team Ira can start reading it for Sin Bingo, because there will be new readers to name. And you could still get BOM participation points as long as it’s done within a month.
The only thing y’all would miss out on would be DQ-writing points, which are not guaranteed anyway.
If interested, check book availability soon, as many people are reporting long waits at their libraries. 📖
(And unfortunately for me, I cannot re-read for Points because it’s too soon)
I've got a handful of space opera books to read too M, but so far only one has a brown cover. I can guarantee something about it will annoy me though. I'm easily annoyed. :D

I'm not a fan of YA but my library has the book, so I can read it later on. Maybe just remind me. :)

There seems to be a debate going on about this book right now so hold off on planning on if for sin bingo for now.
I just saw that, yeah.I guess I figured that since it was Cat-approved as Green, there wouldn't be any problem.
We shall stay tuned...
noone has any respect for my eye for colour! rightly so, as I am often adrift from the majority. but I didn't think Wilder Girls would be contentious - it looked green to me. a muted, underside of olive leaves green, true, but green.
I'm sad :(
I'm sad :(
aww poor Cat! If it helps I see it as green too! Also, Susanne has friended the mod acct. can we get her into the caps group?

She's had an invite! Navigate to Groups, and you should see it waiting for you...

Susanne wrote: "I have yet to read this one I just put a reserve on it from my library also if I cannot get it fast enough from my library I have 5 audible credits so i can use one of them if need be so we will be good. I also have done DQ's before I will sign up for them on that book."Cool. Even if it doesn't end up being Green enough for Sin Bingo (which is still being hotly debated, apparently) -- and if it is, you would still have to finish the book technically AFTER someone from another team finishes the book -- it'll obviously be awesome if you can get BOM points!
Well it has been officially approved as Green enough for Sin Bingo, so anyone who wants to read it and is able to get a copy can have at it. Just "finish after a member of another team", etc etc. ;D
So, I think Team Ira has heard from everybody but Frankie, Kerri, Ozana, and Suzanne with a Z. But they still have time. Does anyone know any of them?
Hello all! It’s nice to pop into GR and see so much chatting! I’m Kerri and I live in Massachusetts. I also work full time as a med lab tech, so I tend to be on and chatty in the evenings (EST evenings, of course). This is my third TT, but it’s been awhile since I was in a huuuge reading slump last year. I’m already past my goal of 50 this year, so I think the slump is over ;)More about me: I live with my husband, two kiddos, and three cats. I love fantasy/sci-fi, though I’ve been exploring other genres this year.I love playing video games (currently Borderlands 3) and board games (the weirder, the better!). And I love music!
Oh, and I’m pretty competitive, just ask my poor husband, lol.
Anyways, I gotta get back to work. I’m excited to get to know everyone!
