I just finished reading All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven and it was amazing.
I also really like Stephanie Perkins (Anna and the French Kiss etc) and My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick.
Welcome Chelsea! I think most of us here love contemporary YA and paramormal/fantasy YA so you will fit right in. I'm currently listening to book 5 from the Bloodline series The Silver Shadow by Richelle Mead. I will be so sad when I finish the last book from the Vampire Academy world. I'm also listening to Fate by Amanda Hocking since I will be going to her Frostfire book signing on Friday! Additionally, I will be starting Black Ice this week. I read your comment, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I think I will too. It will be my bridge book to help me not be so bummed after I finish the last VA book.
I've heard really good things about All the Bright Places and Anna and the French Kiss.

My favorite authors are:
John Green
Gayle Forman
Jennifer E. Smith
J.K. Rowling
J.R.R. Tolkien
Edgar Allan Pie
Charles Bukowski

Some of my favorite authors are: Laurie Halsie Anderson, John Green, Ellen Hopkins, and Rick Riordan. I really like reading what my students are reading so I can connect with them on a different level. :)

Eleanor & Park
The Hunger Games
Red Rising
All the bright places (just finished this book & wow)
Looking to make new friends and learn some book recommendations!

My favorite writer... probably Gail Carriger. SHE IS AMAZING! I also like John Green, Veronica Roth, Rick Riordan and mannnnny others!
I really like reading book series, and two of my favourite series are The Finishing School (can't wait until the last book!), and The Bartimaeus (but this is a trilogy). So... yeah :)

Yeah, I watched it in the cinema with my friend, who is not into reading and she swear very loudly inside the cinema after the ending scene of the movie.

Have you read the Maximum Ride Series? Sounds like something you might enjoy!

I don't really have a favorite author besides John Green (I easily fell in love with all of his books). :)

I don't have a favourite author right now but I'll think about it.
I was a little under the weather the last few days so I missed welcoming several of you... from all over the world too..so welcome everyone...Amanda, Natalie, Jasmine, Evie, Regine (we would love for you and everyone to join our challenge it's on our home page- Books being made into movies), Miandra, Izzy (I've never read anything by Gail Carriger I'll have to check her out.) Kristin, Chrissy (I'm addicted to books too. I've listened to 40 this year already) Chava and Valeria (If you like the Mortal Instruments you have to read Cassandra Clare's The Infernal Devices.)

Welcome Pam. My brother and his family live in NM and my parents lived there for 20 years. They lived in Socorro. It's a beautiful state. I lean towards fantasy or paranormal YA and I read contemporary YA in between. I will be starting the DUFF and We All Looked Up this week, since they are our April group reads.

Congrats on your book Steve and welcome to the group. Feel free to check out our "Members' Work" area.

I'm a reader of everything, so while YA isn't by any means all I read, I find it fun to dip into the genre sometimes.
Also, I've recently published my own YA book, Fulmar, as an ebook. It's a coming of age story set amid the surfing scene in North Cornwall where I live in a field in a caravan with no electric! I'm online as long as the laptop battery lasts!
My favourite YA books are Catcher in the Rye, Mutiny on the Bounty by John Boyne, and Philip Pullman's His dark Materials trilogy. I could go on and on - basically I love books!
Congrats on your book too Robin and welcome to the group. I read His Dark Materials trilogy last year. When you're ready for YA recommendations just post on our Recommend/Ask for Recommendations discussion board.

I love to read and write YA.
Some of my favorite YA authors are: J K Rowling, Brandon Mull, Cornilia Funke, Tolkien, C S Lewis.
More adult authors that young adults could certainly read are: Mary Stewart, Barbara Micheals. There are many more but I haven't got time to think of them all. I particularly like to read fantasy with a touch of romance or Gothic romance.

Welcome Norma and Mez! I can't wait for the next books to come out for Throne of Glass and the Lunar Chronicles. And I'm going to a Sarah J Maas book signing in May!

Khaled Hosseini
Charles Dickens
Cassandra Clare

I'll read anything, especially books with college settings. I'm open to all recommendations! :)

Currently, my favorite author is Jodi Picoult after reading Sister's Keeper. I'm also a fan of Nicholas Sparks, John Green, Sarah Dessen, and J.K. Rowling.
I love reading any kinds of books except thriller or mystery, though sometimes I give it a try. Like when I've read Stieg Larsson ' s Trilogy and We Were Liars.
I'm so excited and happy to be a part of this group.

I'm a fan of many different types of books but I have to admit that YA's ones are in the top of my list.
i'm just finishing Lemony Snicket's "When did you see her last".
I'm a fan of The Hunger Games trilogy. But I'm endlessly in love with Harry Potter books.
I've also read Insurgent but I found it quite a disappointment after watching Divergent, the movie.
I'm also looking forward to start reading The Maze Runner.
I'll gladly accept any recommendations.
I'm very happy to be a part of this group
Welcome to Goodreads Leo and welcome to Contemporary YA! We're happy you found us. My nephew's loved The Maze Runner, but I haven't read it yet. When you're ready for recommendations just post on our Recommend/Ask for Recommendations discussion board.

YA is one of my favorite genres, so I'm glad I found this group. I wish I could say something else but I've been introducing myself a loooot lately, I'm out of words lol. Happy to be here :)

My name is Julianne Alcott, and YA is one of my favourite genres.
I have recently read the Hunger Games series, and had to make myself stop reading all through the night or I would have been a zombie at work! I kept hoping that Katniss would end up with the guy I liked, and I wasn't disappointed!
I want to read William Nicholson's Wind on Fire trilogy next.
I'm working and studying at the moment, so I don't have as much time to read as I would like.
Looking forward to getting to know you all.

My favorite author is J. R. R. Tolkien and my favorite book(s) are pretty much everything he's written. Very big Tolkien fan.

My name is Raffaela but you can call me Emyl. I'm 17 and I come from Italy.
I love reading YA books but also romantic and paranormal novels. Some of my favorite writers are J. Sterling, Jennifer L Armentrout, Monica Murphy and Sylvia Day.
I'm very happy to be a part of this group!!
Welcome Cami, Julianne, Shannon and Emyl! We're glad you joined. Feel free to start a discussion, join the group read discussions, post what you're reading, ask a question or ask for recommendations.

I just joined the group, and I'm really excited to make new buddies here and I'm totally open for friendships. So feel free to add me :)
