Peter sighed as he lay outside his small cottage in the side of the mountain. It was a beautiful day today and he didn't even have to change the weather to make it so.
Kylie hummed quietly, tossing rocks at the lake, seeing how far they would skip. She was trying to beat 78.
Jonah was inside their house, his feet propped up on the table, listening to music loudly, scribbling random yet beautiful pictures.

Peter noticed Kylie at the lake and started to make the wind blow harder so she would fail at beating her record.
Laila walked through the forest, singing softly to herself. This forest was becoming quite boring. It was alright for the first couple of months, but Laila had soon become boring. She was used to the crowded city of new york, the bussiness, the crowd, the clothes. She walked into the cottage, "Hello?" she called. "Anyone home?"
Kylie cursed to herself as the rock hit 78, then stopped. "Peter! Cut that out!" she called, seeing him across the lake.
Peter looked up and chuckled, "I don't see the point of skipping rocks when I could easily control them."Slowly, he grabbed a small stone and cast it at the lake and tossed it across, rippling the water and wind to his advantage. His ending number was 88.
"See?"
"Cheater," she rolled her eyes. "What we do is actually skill! We don't control the rock with our super special mysterious powers!"
Kylie ran across the lake easily, stopping before Peter, then jumping gracefully to land in front of him. "The point is that I can be just as good as you, if not better." she replied calmly, sitting beside him. "Hello Laila."
"Hello," Laila smiled. "Gosh guys they're just rocks! No need to be so...competitive," she laughed.
"Oh please, that's so 100 years ago! This whole girls not as good as boys, boys better than girls thing.....ahh it's old! And so is everything around here! Why can't we go back to new york? I had to put my whole fashion line on hold because of this!"
Kylie grimaced. "Yeesh, I told, I only kill criminals and people like that. I never hurt the innocent." she assured him, but she looked away. "And you and fashion! If you love it so much, why'd you leave to come here?" she said, glaring at Laila."
"Well, the police almost caught you remember?" Peter sighed, creating a few cumulus clouds as he spoke, "And I don't think Laila needs to leave. I think she should just figure out how to make fashion work even here. She's one of us."
Kylie thought. "Start a store here, too? Hire someone to run the one in the city. And so, they wouldn't have believed what they saw, you know mortals."
"It's not the same! I mean, I have money, that's not the problem. It's just...i don't feel comfortable leaving New York! Everything is so....in the open! Wont it be much harder to blend in here! I know you guys don't like it here! I know your as bored as me! We have to compromise! I know your unhappy just like me!" she yelled, over-reacting like always. When she was in one of her rants, she just couldn't stop.
Kylie sighed. "Calm down. Or I'll make you." she said. She could control her, but she prefered not to.
"You are not! Your scared I'll control you! I know your bored, unhappy, and....frightened," she counted on her fingers. "Can't we just go back? Kylie's alright and....well, frankly, we're easily tracked out here and I don't like it..."
Kylie snapped her fingers, making Laila completely sedated and calm. "Relax, breathe. We are not being tracked. You are not the center of the world, as you always think you are."
"Ha-ha. I still love your power, but shapes-shifting is way cooler," she transformed into Kylie, then back to "herself". "But please," she said calmly, "let's go home! No more hiding!"
"No, it is not our home! This was not the deal!" she yelled, temper flaring. "I'm going back to New York with or without you!"
"I'll come," Peter rose suddenly, but gracefully, "I really do like it out here and all, but I want to make sure you're settled. You're one of us."
Laila cocked her head to the side. "Thanks Peter, but I'll be fine! I mean, I've been alright for 200 years, I'll be alright now." she paused, and awkward silence followed. "I'll..go get my stuff," Laila mumbled, walking out of the cabin and towards her's down the path.
"Wait!" Peter caught up with Laila, "Are you sure you don't want us to visit or something? I mean, we met almost a century ago and never really separated..."
Kylie rolled her eyes. "I can't believe you're going with her. She's such a drama queen." she said, glaring at Laila.
Laila rolled her eyes. "I have to do what's best for me Peter, and you should do what's best for you. If you don't come...I understand. And I'll miss you," she kissed his cheek and continued down the path towards her cabin. "Bye Kylie," she smiled genuinely, then turned back around.
"She's my friend," Peter answered simply. In his human life, he never had friends. He was hated by everyone. When he met the vampire that changed him, he thought he had a real friend. But no...it was just a thirsty vamp.
Kylie clenched her hands into fists, then turned and walked away, not saying anything. She had never had friends, even vampires, and she didn't really get friendships either.
"Hey, Laila. Did I hear you're leaving?" Jonah asked, appearing in front of her.
"Hey, Laila. Did I hear you're leaving?" Jonah asked, appearing in front of her.
Peter watched Kylie go. She was his friend too. He ran to catch up with her, "It'll only be for a little while. I promise to be back soon. When the summer begins. If I find someone to come for me before then, I'll send them right over k?"
Laila quickly packed her stuff, making sure to fold her clothes into neat squares so that they'd fit in her small suitcase. She pulled the zipper around slowly so as not to rip it off (like last time). When she was finally finished, she grabbed her suitcase and ran outside and into the forest. She couldn't see Peter anywhere. She was hurt, and sad that he wasn't coming, but maybe it was for the best.
As she was running, she smelled something strange. At first she thought it was just a deer, or bear-they actually had those out here. But it wasn't. It was a vampire. If Laila's heart was still beating, it would be beating awfully fast right about now.
She dropped the suitcase, and looked around for the vampire she knew was watching her.

Peter didn't wait for Kylie's response. He ran off to find Laila."Laila?" he let the sun shine brighter so he could find her, "Where are you?"
Kylie just sighed. "Fine. Bye." she mumbled.
"Laila?" Jonah repeated, confused because she wasn't answering.

"I know your there," she said, transforming into another girl. She never liked fighting in her real form.
"Of course you do," said a voice.
"D-Danny? Is that you?" Laila replied. "Why are you here?" she asked nervously.
"Oh, for you darling! Only for you," he laughed, jumping down from a tree gracefully. "It took me a while to find you though. Silly me, I still thought you were in the city," he shook his head as he slowly walked towards her.
"Oh?" she did her best to sound completely surprised. "We decided to take a little vacation....you know? Get out of the city. It's been...really nice. Why....are you here though?"
"You are going to join my army," he said plainly.
"What army?!"
"Of course you do," said a voice.

"What?" Peter said from behind Laila. He thought of Laila fighting all of the other vamps. It was rather shocking
"Peter!" she began to smile, but then remembered Danny. "This, ahem," she cleared her throat nervously, "is D-Danny," she mumbled softly.
"Very nice to make your acquaintance Peter," Danny nodded. "And yes, an army. You see, a group of us have formed, an army, and well, we're going to take back what's rightfully ours. CEO's of international companies, senators,...the presidency?" he smirked.

"Nice to meet you as well," Peter nodded his head. Then he listened to what Danny was saying. Fighting? He wasn't really into that whole thing...he loved life as it was. But could he change it for the better?
"Uhm...that's..great?" she said nervously, backing away from Danny. "But I really don't think I'm interested."
"Shame," he said, cocking his head to the right. "Well, my superiors definitely wont be happy about this. They might even have to...you know? But...what I know?" he shrugged sympathetically.
"Yeah...I'll be careful...bye Danny!" she smiled. "Nice..seeing you?"
Danny frowned, not amused.

"Hey, leave them alone." Kylie said, walking up to Danny, looking annoyed. "If they don't want to do something, tehy don't have to."
"Yeah.." Laila tried do sound frightening. "But...thanks for the offer!" she laughed, trying to brighten the mood.
Danny walked closer to them. "I can make your life hell Laila. Right this very second some of my boys are checking out your building. Your company's rooms on fashion street. Your employees house. Oh and that reminds me, you might have to get some new employees. Some of the boys had a little....mishap." Danny made a sour expression.
"Oh my god!" Laila gasped. "Not Sussy! Tom? No you wouldn't!" she croaked.

"And you, Kylie, I wouldn't get too close if I were you," he smirked.
"Kylie," Laila tried to grab her wrist, to pull her away from Danny. Although Danny didn't look like a threat, he was amazingly powerful.
