What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read this book in second grade when I was trying to learn English. There's this girl whose mother isn't with her family, maybe she's dead or left the girl and her dad. But she remembers all the moments with her mom so vividly. I remember one of the girl's friends, Beth, because I couldn't pronounce the "th" in her name. But it goes from the present like when the girl is in school, to the past, where she discusses memories with her mom. Also, the book cover is blueish with the girl turning her back to us and shes wearing something blue and she's on a balcony. Please let me know if anyone has read this!
