Katherine had just finished doing some last minute shopping for her flight that left in 3 hours time. She had cut through Central Park as it was a shorter route home and had less creepy alleys for her to walk by. She was sort of in a rush as she needed to finish packing and then see her SO (Supervising officer) before she left for her next mission.

Emma (rpblcofletters) Philly was walking around in Central Park. She had always hated it, ever since her parents took her to New York and they insisted t was so amazing. She didn't see the point. Of course, it was nice to have a few trees. But there are too many parks in New York, she had protested.

Katherine bumped into some man who glared at her and walked off. All her shopping ended up on the floor as she dropped the bags she was carrying when the brute walked into her. " Great, it's just my luck," she muttered as she bent down to pick everything up. She noticed that a bottle of perfume had rolled away from her.So she got up to pick it up. The way this day was going would only mean it would get worse.

message 5: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) Seeing all that happen, Philly trotted over and picked a few things up.
"Here," she said, in her half english half american accent.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

"Thank you. That guy was such a jerk" she said smiling at the other girl as she collected the last few items off the floor and put it back into the bags. She then stood up and dusted off her dress glad she was going home she didn't want to stay in this dress all day now that it was dirty.

message 7: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) "It's no problem," she said, and swatted away a fly that was buzzing around her ears. "I like your shoes," she noted.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

" Thank you. I got them from a shop a friend recommended in Paris," she said with a smile. It wasn't quite true of course as she had been gifted them by one of the many wealthy young men she went out with on a regular basis. Katherine brushed a couple of strands of hair out of her eyes where they had come loose from her bun.

message 9: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) "Oh? When I go to Paris I must find myself a pair!"

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

((Oneliner))

" It is quite a beautiful little boutique just south of the river I believe " she said. She knew where it was as she heard the New York Congressman's wife talking about it- the shop seemed to be all the range with the Upper classes.

message 11: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) ((Sometimes you can't put thaaaat much detail in though! And on the app it looks like more))

"I will make sure to see it. You see, I am going around the world, and I want to go see all the big cities, just like Passepartout and Phileas in Around the World in 80 Days." she smiled, thinking about it.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

(( Make sure it is over a line even if it is only by three words))

" You will like it I hope and oh? Are you just booking flights to different cities then?" she asked. She couldn't imagine not travelling anymore she loved it to much even if it did involve flirting with old men or putting up with that annoying Russian who she seemed to see everywhere.

message 13: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) "Indeed, I'm trying to get back to Europe and then I shall see what will be after that... Probably down through Africa and India. I would prefer not to go through Russia..."

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

" Africa is beautiful and I don't blame you for not wanting to go to Russia. They are all communists over there and also very annoying. If you want to travel may I suggest booking a ticket on Pan-Am's world flight? It will be cheaper than having to keep booking new flights and well as less inconvenient" she said thinking of her own experiences.

message 15: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) "Oh?" She asked, intrigued. "But... If it goes all the way around the world, what's the point? Why wouldn't you want to stop in different cities along the way?..." She didn't understand the concept completely.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

" It does stop in every major city for about a week at time sometimes more but unfortunately it does stop in the Soviet Union" she said trying to explain. Explaining things to people wasn't one of her strong points.

message 17: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) "Oh?... Well. That will be an interesting experience. Visiting with the commies!" She chuckled a little.

((That's three lines on my phone so...))

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

(( It's fine. It's just over a line on here))

" Along as they think sensibly and don't try to arrest innocent people. But don't worry that has only happened once out of the times I have visited. Also you don't really get to see much of the cities either as you can't explore on your own you have to go on a tour with a Soviet approved Tour guide." she said shaking her head.

message 19: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) "I'll make sure to do that, then, if I decide t go." She looked up at the sky. It was grey and getting darker- storm clouds were moving in. "Oh! It seems as though it's about to rain soon."

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Katherine nodded and then looked up. She hoped it didn't rain before she got herself home. " So it is. I hope it doesn't last too long," she said sighing as whatever time it decided to start pouring it down would most likely inconvenience her.

((Bye bye for now))

message 21: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) "There's a coffee shop nearby if you would like to accompany me," she said. "They make a mean cappuccino... And also it's rather warm and not wet inside!"

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

" That would be great," she said smiling. She just hoped she got home in time to finish packing so she could make her appointment with MI6 before she left on her travels.

message 23: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) Philly and she walked towards the coffee shop which was near the soon-to-be-built Lincoln Center. They went inside and sat down.
"What is your name?" She asked, not having asked yet.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

((Night))

message 25: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) ((Goodnight! Sleep well :) ))

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

" Katherine Taylor and yours?" she asked after ordering a latte off of the waitress. This is what she loved about the city in every cafe or restaurant someone came to take your order you didn't have to go up to the counter like in some countries she could name.

message 27: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) "Philomena Fogg," she said, "But my friends call me Philly." She ordered an espresso -- she found it strange to drink things with milk in them after 10:00 - Italians have so much more sense than Americans...

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

" It's a pleasure to meet you Philomena. " she said brightly taking a sip of the coffee the waitress brought her. It was hot but the temperature of it didn't bother her.

message 29: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) Philly poured some sugar into her drink, and then mixed it with a silver colored spoon that was on the table in front of her.
"So are you going on this fancy airplane you speak of?"

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

"Yes, I work on the fancy airplane. I'm a stewardess, it's an interesting job but can get a little tiresome," she said thinking of the constant smiling she had to do even when feeling miserable.

message 31: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) "Oh, that job must be horrible," she said. "Always flying, never staying in one place -- I mean, I wish to be adventurous, but as a hobby, not as a job. I would want to stay somewhere for a while..."

message 32: by [deleted user] (last edited Oct 27, 2014 12:03PM) (new)

" I like it, the constant travelling is fun and your never in one place to long to tire of it, of course I'll probably settle down eventually, and if I ever get married I'll have to quit ," she said.

message 33: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) "I don't want to get married," she said. She felt that it made her weak, having to rely on a man.

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

"Any particular reason why? In this world you have to get married if you fall in love," she said with a sigh. She had seen what happened to girls who fell in love and didn't marry- had a first hand view of it in fact. She didn't wish that on anybody.

message 35: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) "Because then I'll have to rely on a husband. And that makes me seem weak. I don't want hat for myself."

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

" You don't have to... I know some pretty equal marriages out there even if the rest of the world still insists us women are inferior. And it's not all the men's fault that most companies say you can't work if you are married." Katherine said. She valued her independence but that didn't mean she didn't dream of a big white wedding and a husband that loved her.

message 37: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) She shrugged. "I want to travel the world. If I get married I probably won't be able to." She looked out the window of the coffee shop. It had started to rain.

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

" You never know a rich husband may be the key to that," Katherine said with a laugh. She had seen many a husband wrapped round their wives little fingers, hell she had wrapped many a male around her little finger.

message 39: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) She shrugged. She was rich - a man had loved her and gave her his fortune. He had died, wishing to marry her.
"I don't like men," she said.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

Katherine wondered a bit at that was she like a man she had met on the way to West Germany- prefer the company of his own sex? If so she felt a bit awkward now for pushing the subject of marriage. "Fair enough," she said.

message 41: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) "It's not that I'm incapable of love. They are just so annoying! Maybe I'll find the right one someday," she shrugged. It had begun to pour outside as she looked out the window again.

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

" I hope you do. But there again I'm one to talk, my idea of a long term relationship is dating a guy for a week knowing I'll never see him again," she said frowning slightly. In fact if she was going off of amount of time she spent with them then that bloody communist was her longest relationship not that it was a much of relationship- they argued, fought, tried to get the other arrested or killed and then fell into bed.

message 43: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) she raised her eyebrows. "From the constant traveling? That must be annoying."

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

" Yes but sometimes it can be fun having an affair with someone you will never see again. It makes things exciting but the travelling makes it hard to form permanent attachments," Katherine said. Now she looked at it she would have to find a boyfriend and date him for a couple of months just so her relationship (It's not a relationship!! Stop thinking of it as a relationship. You hate him.) didn't seem so significant.

message 45: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) She kept thinking of the man who used to love her. It Annoyed her... He loved her and left her everything and she shunned him.

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

"Is everything okay?" she asked seeing that the other girl was lost in thought. She often wondered what had happened in peoples lives to make them the way they were but she would never ask-it was impolite.

message 47: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) "Oh I'm fine. Just thinking about some poem u read the other day..."

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

" Was the poem any good? I read some by Siegfried Sassoon the other day and while I understood them they were dreadful," she said.

((Not my personal opinion. I actually like his work))

message 49: by Emma (new)

Emma (rpblcofletters) "Oh yes. It was by Dante..." She said, trying to remember the exact phrasing.

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

"Ah the Italian? The only work I have heard of his is the inferno but I have never read it," she replied. It wasn't a typical thing most women had read even well educated ones.
