“Romeo and Juliet meets One Hundred Years of Solitude in Emily Henry's brilliant follow-up to The Love That Split the World, about the daughter and son of two long-feuding families who fall in love while trying to uncover the truth about the strange magic and harrowing curse that has plagued their bloodlines for generations.”

I first found out about this author through OwlCrate as her book “The Love that Split the World” was included in one of their earlier boxes and only heard good things, so when I had the opportunity to pick up “A Million Junes” I definitely jumped at it.
After reading the synopsis I wasn’t completely convinced as romance isn’t always my first choice when it comes to reading but I’m so, so glad I picked it up!

This book is about so much more than romance, it’s about family (the good and the bad), about great friendships and how the past affects everything. Going on a journey with June to discover who her Dad was as a person and not just who he was in stories about him and from him was amazing but oh-so heart-breaking.

Emily Henry’s writing style is just beautiful, she really has a knack for making you feel connected to characters, even if you don’t agree with what they’re choosing to do. I found Saul’s character so interesting and would find myself waiting for him to reappear in an effort to learn everything about him that I could.

I fell in love with A Million Junes for so many reasons, the book is magical realism done tremendously well! I have so much more to say about it but I don’t want to give too much away as everything is so perfectly connected.

Has anyone else read A Million Junes? Will you be adding it to your TBR? :)

Claudia (31ninetyeighty) | 4 comments Wow sounds great. Just requested the audiobook from the library. Can't wait to start listening to it.
And so cool that you found her through Owlcrate. I did get some boxes from them too and I found some great books due to that.
