I think the most space book I've read was Foundation by Asimov. Real good, although I suspect it's not a full "space book".
Two space opera series I really got into are The Expanse by James S A Corey and The Honor Harrington series by David Weber (starts with On Basilisk Station). Both are very different, but great worlds.
I've started The Expanse series! It'll take me a while to get through, I'm sure... but I'm enjoying it very much so far.
Sci-fi ... I don't tend to read; Sci-Fact, I've enjoyed both Moondust: In Search of the Men Who Fell To Earth, and The Right Stuff enormously.
I still want to be an astronaut when I grow up.

I myself don't have much experience with the genre, so I'm looking forward to doing some intergalactic exploring with this month's book.
