I completed 1 series: The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
Nothing new this month.

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
I moved forward in 1: The Predator Trilogy (#2) by Allison Brennan.

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
I had 3 5 ★ reads this month.
True Evil by Greg Iles
The Hunt (Predator Trilogy #2) by Allison Brennan
City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments #6) by Cassandra Clare
The first 2 were suspense/thrillers with great characters. The story kept my interest and they were hard to put down.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
My best month within the last 4 months. Since I completed a series and now only have 1 group read per month, I look forward to more mood reading.

Fishnet by Kirstin Innes True Evil by Greg Iles The Hunt (Predator Trilogy, #2) by Allison Brennan City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6) by Cassandra Clare Cursed by Thomas Wheeler

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
I finished 8 books in September which is pretty good since I was on vacation for the last week and didn't get any reading done. Most of my books were either 4 or 4.5 Stars.

5. Strange month for me even though I read 19 books I was in a funk. That author emailing me threw me for a loop and I didn’t feel like reading at all which is not normal for me. So to get back into it I did the re-reads which I usually don’t do and binged the two series I was into. Marked Men and The wallflowers.

Laura, how are you doing now? Please, please, please don’t let one bad actor ruin your experience here. YOU did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG!!! Do not give away your power. She was so out of line and will never reach any measurable success because she’s wired wrong...she should be paying attention to her writing, not reviews. Most of the writers I admire have already spoken out on this issue and would NEVER even think about saying something like that (or anything) to a reader.

Shake her off, remove the book from your profile and FORGET HER NAME. You have the most incredible shelf and know that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE reading your posts!!! You’ve inflated my shelf and have excellent taste in romance titles. Your opinion matters to me, for whatever that‘s worth😏

Now, I never use all caps so take that as a reflection of how passionately I feel about what I said💜

Aww thanks for that, I needed that pep talk actually. Great idea to remove that from my shelf I shouldn’t have even added it to this post.
The last book I read took me 4 days (3 days longer then normal) to read so my funk continues. I’m not sure how to get out of it.

Have you ever read Lisa Clark O’Neill? She writes fantastic romantic suspense.

Lisa Clark doesn’t ring a bell I will look her up. Funny you should mention that I almost went on the lounge yest asking for suggestions for romantic suspense. I want criminals , serial killer, thrillers not military.

1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
I got up to date in three series:
In Death by J. D. Robb
Will Trent by Karin Slaughter
The Evelyn Talbot Chronicles by Brenda Novak

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
Yes, I started one series, The Undertaker’s Daughter by Debra Webb and definitely plan to continue.

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
I moved forward in four series:
Predator Trilogy by Allison Brennan
Hostage Rescue Team by Kaylea Cross
Gaslight Mystery by Victoria Thompson
The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
Hands down, The Last Widow blew me away! Right now it’s my #1 book of the year in all aspects. I had another 5 star title, 29 Seconds that really surprised me. Two 4 1/2 star books that kept me riveted were Blind Spot & Seized.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
It was a great month in terms of quality of the books I read and my enjoyment level. My quantity was low (11) because I began two books in excess of 500 pages near the end of the month but I’m pretty happy with my month.
The Last Widow (Will Trent, #9) by Karin Slaughter 29 Seconds by T.M. Logan Blind Spot (The Evelyn Talbot Chronicles, #4) by Brenda Novak Seized (Hostage Rescue Team #7) by Kaylea Cross

What that author did was unacceptable and the fact that she took away your enjoyment of reading for even one second makes her unworthy of calling herself an author!
