Carolyn | 5 comments I don't usually care for foreign authors/books but "The girl with the Dragon Tattoo" is an exception and I am currently reading Stieg Larsson's second book, "The girl who played with fire"

Elena The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a great book! I was very disappointed with the second one. But, a lot of people find it even better than the first one. It always amazes me how we all have different views of the same thing.
Anyway, I am still toing to read the third one when it comes out.

Carolyn | 5 comments What is the name of the 3rd one? I knew there were three, but I haven't researched it yet. I'm only half way through this one, I like to digest it and we've had so few warm days that I spend time outdoors whenever I can. But, alas, fall is coming so I will be reading more.

Carolyn | 5 comments Thanks. I thought it was already out. Do you have any other favorites you've read recently? I do enjoy series'.

Elena The third book is out but not in the US.

One author I discovered recently through GD is Kate Morton. She has written two books: The Forgotten Garden and The House at Riverton. I think you may enjoy her books. Oh, but they are not series...

Sarah | 43 comments Carolyn, if you're into series, you should keep an eye on the Kindle freebies. It seems that their new MO is to put the first book in a series up for free, in hopes that you'll buy the rest. I'm working on the series now that began with The Briar King (and it's GREAT). It's $6 and change now, but was free a couple months ago. I watch their bestsellers list like a hawk since the free books always end up there!

Here's a mystery series prequel that's free right now:

About the Stieg Larsson books, I have heard that they are exciting but that the character development is lacking. Do you think that's true? If so, does the plot make up for it?
