"A shy guy, eh?" Echogaze soothed.

He ignored her.

"I'm Echogaze." She suddenly recognized him. "Of course, I remember you! Hawkpaw, am I right? I trained with you, remember?"

"Of course I remember you. And it's Hawkclaw." Hawkclaw replied scornfully. "You flirted with every tom you laid eyes on from here to Highstones!"
