I was going to post in the thread about Jenks, but then was curious if anyone else name their pet after a character.

I named one of my cats, Jenk. Their personality don't quite match, but I loved the character so much, that it was a no brainer whenI adopted my cat.

What about anyone else?

Book characters, no. at least not yet. we have a movie theme in my house. Mushu, the dragon fin Betta, for example. Black cat named Binx. Meeko is my part maine coon cat with a raccoon striped tail. Agnes is named after the youngest sister from Despicable Me because when she was a baby she was just SO FLUFFY IM GONNA DIE.
So yes, a character type theme of naming pets. lol.

Our pups are named Daphne Pond and Albus Noble.

Daphne after Daphne Moon (Frasier) and Daphne Blake (Scooby Doo). Pond after Amy Pond (Doctor Who).

Albus after Dumbledore (Harry Potter) and Noble after Donna Noble (Doctor Who, best companion of all time ;) )

Our Yellow Lab, Buliwhyf is named for the hero king in The 13th Warrior.

We had a Lord of the Rings theme with my guinea pigs several years ago - Mushroom, Arwen, Pippin, Merry - those are the only ones I can think of just now.

OH! And we have a M*A*S*H theme with my goldfish - Henry and Margaret, so far

I have a disney character theme going on when naming my cats. Oh, and the dog shares a name with an NCIS character...but that's not intentional. Since I found this series I've wanted to name a cat after Jinx, but I haven't gotten a new cat yet. It'll happen eventually.

I fostered kittens last October the names, Chuckie, Carrie, Jason and Michael. 😱🤣

Y'all are coming up with great names for pets!

I have had cats named Jinx (changed the spelling - but definitely named after Jenks) and Scooby (yes, a cat named after a dog). I have three turtles named after the dragons in Game Of Thrones, and now I have a dog named Blue after the velociraptor in the more recent Jurrasic Park movies. He is a German Shepherd who is rather bitey when he plays.

So, yes, character names tend to be used in my household as well. :)

We named our cat "Duncan" after one of the princes in The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom. My then 11 year old daughter and I listened to them on Audiobook read by Bronson Pinchot. We laughed so hard! Highly recommend for children and adults alike.
Our black lab is named Hamilton -after the musical/president.
