What is the name of the best book you read in September?

The book I liked the most is The Baker's Secret. It's a story that you think in the beginning is going to be a tragedy but as you read further you realize it's not. It's a story of people who stick together, love, kindness amid hatred, and triumph. Just loved it.

Jenny (diggensjenny) The book I like the most in September is the The Roadhouse by Kerry McGinnis

I have driven through the area this book is set in and I can picture the isolation and the importance of community involvement.

Barbara K Tie for me, too. A Better Man was brand new and up to Penny’s typical high standards. And also a re-read of The Big Sleep, still as great as it always has been.

Not familiar with either of these books.

Jessica Chantelle (shanti15) The best book I read last month was Hannibal. I very much enjoy the series and I hope the next book is just as good.

I wish the question asked for a little detail as to why you liked these books. I'm curious.

For me the reason is simple: I like Cleverly's Joe Sandiland's books and Myers's Maggie Sullivan books to begin with. I only read 3 books that month and the third one (by a best selling author) was so slow and bland, I couldn't finish it.

Thanks. 3 books a month is some pretty heavy reading for me.

Barbara K A Better Man and The Big Sleep share two qualities that contribute to a good read for me, more than plot, for instance. Louise Penny and Raymond Chandler both write beautifully, and both books feature MCs who repeatedly struggle with ethical dilemmas but find their way through in the end.

Thanks Barbara. I'm reading Penny's series so I'll get to at least one of them.

Julesy I was in completely awe of Rip Tides by Toby Neal of the Lei Crime series. it was by far my favorite for September. These books do need to be read in order. However, whenever I pick up the next book in the series, I'm just totally glued to it.
Rip Tides (Lei Crime, #9) by Toby Neal

Do you usually read these back to back or do you have to take a break in between?
