It seemed like a fitting punishment, in my opinion.

What did you all think of her asking Agnes to visit her?

I have just completed ch 23. I will read 24 tonight or tomorrow.

I think that Lady Ashby invited Agnes to visit her because:

1) no one cares about her in her husband's house. I mean she is disliked by husband and mother-in-law alike and she can't have her way

2) she needs someone to listen to her complaints and is bored silly

To add to Andrea, women like that alienate other women. She has no friends who care.
Only her governess, who does care deeply.

They are a stark contrast to eachother.
