I suppose Rosalie's situation was predictable, yet sad. It still happens in many societies that young girls are married to older men with sad consequences. I

I have just completed ch 23. I will read 24 tonight or tomorrow. I think that Lady Ashby invited Agnes to visit her because:
1) no one cares about her in her husband's house. I mean she is disliked by husband and mother-in-law alike and she can't have her way
2) she needs someone to listen to her complaints and is bored silly
