So... for a long time, I feel like my head has been stuck in WW2. I just think it is so interesting! So I thought we could talk about it here, and maybe give some book ideas on it.

Oh boy...can I share something?

Oml, so my S.S (Social studies) Teacher actually got a holocaust survivor to come to our school!
It was great!!! He talked about his experience at the camps, and how horrible it was....I cried.

I got the opportunity to ask him something, and I started crying. My voice is so heavily accented that he didn understand...

When I was in HS two teachers did the same thing.
Haha, but my teacher asked him for me.
*squeals*
It was an honor to be around him and just take in the history. His grandfather died as they were being transported to the camps which is sad.

Most, if not all, of historical fiction I read is set during WWII. Lilac Girls and The Women in the Castle are my favs!

Same here. It sounds really good but I don't want to come across the nudity.

Yes, I finally got to read it a few weeks ago. If you can get your hands on it, READ! It is SOOO good!
So, has anyone gotten to go to the National Holocaust Museum? I got to go a couple of months ago, and it was SOOOO good!! I actually got really inspired afterward, so I wrote some poems about it. They're pretty dark, just cause I had just gone to see some very dark stuff, but you're welcome to check them out here:https://www.goodreads.com/story/show/...
Guys, I just read those for the first time in a while, and man they're darker than I remember! Sorry...
*raises hand* I went with my family about two years ago- it was super, super sad and kinda depressing.
Woah, I didn’t know you could write poetry like that?!?! Those are rly good!

A FANTASTIC book that mostly takes place in WW II is The Hiding Place: The Triumphant True Story of Corrie Ten Boom by Corrie ten Boom. It is amazing to see how God worked during such a dark time.
Corrie Ten Boom is one of the most amazing people I have ever read about. I can't read her books without crying..There are real miracle stories right there, even when people assume miracles like those happened only in Christ's time.
Reading Corrie Ten Boom will literally change someones life, even if you are already a Christian.
I can't even express the awe I'm in whenever I think about how God worked during those times.
Oh, my gosh, The Hiding Place is one of my favorite books of all time! It is so good, and I totally agree with you!

Well, thank you! I didn't think they were that great, but I did have a lot of inspiration running through my head. I went through the museum by myself, because my uncle had to keep his kids outside, since they were too young, and after getting back, I couldn't smile properly. It's very heavy. Did you get to go through all three flours? If so, what was your favorite floor?
I need to read the Hiding Place honestly. And Harper, yes, we went through all three floors. I can’t really say I had a favorite. They were all really sad and made me heartbroken. I know! My little brother was six at the time and he wasn’t able to go through the whole thing. It was a lot, especially with him being so young.
No i haven’t read it Harper, but you’re right, it does look like a good book.

Yes, she was such an amazing lady!Oh, cool, Joey. Yeah, I saw these kids pass me when I went, they were probably all under six, and I was like, what are they doing here? This is going to scar them for life! Ugh, it's just so sad.
