As I reflect on this photograph, I see once again that not all the brave leave the 'Home of the Brave' to 'Stand On Guard' and enter battle; some are required now to be the 'Brave' of the home
It is said a picture is worth a thousand words but it leaves me speechless and tears in my eyes.
Prayer Request
I understand that life in Iraq and Afganistan is very difficult to bear right now. Our troops need our prayers for strength, endurance and safety.

Why Go To Church?
A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained
that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. "I've gone for 30
years now," he wrote, "and in that time I have heard something like 3,000
sermons. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them.
So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by
giving sermons at all."
This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column,
much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone
wrote this clincher:
"I've been m arried for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some
32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for
a single one of those meals. But I do know this .. They all nourished me
and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given
me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not
gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!" When
you are DOWN to nothing.... God is UP to something! Faith sees the
invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God
for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment!

I don’t go to church. I’m by no means spiritually dead or lacking.
I find this analogy kind of funny because eating cooked food everyday is one of the leading causes of death in America, lol. The standard American meal, you know….stuff like fried chicken, mac & cheese, bread and good ol’ apple pie, does tend to lead to things like cancer, obesity, macular degeneration, diabetes, and ironically Alzheimer’s.
Might be why he can’t remember the sermons or meals, lol.

Pass this on to all women and girls that you know. yesterday Jermaine S. Wright was released from ECI . he is a 33 years old, 5'7" tall, black and about 170 lbs. his physique is muscular. his registered address is West Road in Salisbury. this man is VERY dangerous. in 1992 he raped and killed a girl at one of the under 21 clubs in Ocean City. the dna evidence somehow became compromised so they had to let him go. he fled to NC where he raped two more women. he spent 3 years in prison down there. during that time, a circumstantial case was built against him for the rape/murder in 92. he was convicted of that and has spent the last 7 years at ECI. now he's free. he is considered a sexually violent predator. the authorities are 100% sure that his actual history involves many mor! e rapes and possibly murders than are listed above. he seems to prefer white women with no particular pre fere nce to age or physique. he also entered the home of one of the NC victims during the day through an unlocked door. the warden is asking us to put the word out to all of our friends/family/everybody, to please be careful. women need to keep their doors locked if they are in the house with no adult males . they need also refrain from going anywhere alone at night. this is a rapist and a murderer who has been locked up for the last 10 years. statistically speaking, it is VERY probably that he will strike again within the next 30 days.

Because the king would grant soldiers special "holidays" at brothels for keeping up their good work, lol...but I don't know the history...don't take my word for it.
HA! I heard it meant For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. In ye olde pilgrim days, adulturers would be placed in--well, I almost said "racks" but what I actually mean is that board thingy with 3 holes, one for head, two for arms--"racks" and painted across the top was F.U.C.K. so everyone would know why they were being humiliated in public. Hee hee... I wonder how many other stories there are out there about the origin of the word...

Whoever wrote this is a moron. Not to mention, macabre, morose, unenlightened, and unaware as to how hypocritical they are being. God is unchanginga and infallible...what makes you think he has emotions??? How can god know everything, be everywhere, and be PERFECT if he has hissy fits and petty grievances with what someone SAYS?
What is an untimely death anyway??? If you died...it was your time!
Let's look at the facts
- John Lennon died in 1980....so what, god gave him an additional 14 years to live before striking his vengeance?
- Cazuza died of lung cancer?! HE SMOKED..what do you expect?!
- Marilyn Monroe (and Lennon actually) were killed by the government. Lennon was against the war and was a tad tooo vocal about it and JFK probably told Marilyn a little too much (notice he died an 'untimely' death, too and he constantly said God bless America and all that jazz)
- The whole Brazilian daughter thing...she suuure learned HER lesson, huh?! That story, if it's not fake, is absolutely feasible. If it was a head on or even side impact collision, why would it be a surprise that the trunk was fine? Also...the eggs in the crate were in a crate designed to withstand impact. It did it's job, big whoop. Perhaps the collision wasn't what made the car unrecognizable, it was the fire. So even though they may not have been hit very hard, the fire did a lot of damage to everywhere but inside the trunk. Notice there are no names, pictures, news clippings or anything to support this story. Also, it juust so happens to be in Brazil where you may not have seen this on the news in America.
- The others, the presidential candidate and the titanic are just a little something called coincidence....irony, even....but not god.
All together..out of the oh so many examples they have, they've listed these 5 or 6? There are MILLIONS and BILLIONS of people who pray, believe, preach, missionary, prophecy, fight holy battles, wear crosses, go to church, etc. who die untimely deaths everyday.
Common sense, man....common sense.

No doubt, these people need to think before they write. After reading this email I was reminded of this story. My cousin was killed in a car crash, while drag racing. His dad told him not to eat breakfast that morning but he did anyway. He died because he choked on his own vomit..eww. It is possible that my uncle had a premonition, but he did not know what my cousin was going to be doing that day. He very well could have been killed whether he ate or not. Everyone in town told stories about how he was taken because he didn't adhere to his father's warning, which they took as a personal revelation from God. The fact remains, he was drag racing on a one lane country road. The car flipped several times before landing on the side my cousin was on. Maybe if he hadn't eaten he would have survived, but who's to say he wouldn't have been seiously injured if not permanently incapacitated. Yes, perhaps it was before "his time" but it still happened and there was nothing anyone could have done about it. (Barring the police showing up and shutting down the illegal drag racing.) On the other side of death, there are many elderly, and/or sick people that are clinging on to life even though they are in agony. Before my great-uncle died, if you asked him how he was, he would say "Just waitin' for Grim." He was only half joking. He had a myriad of health problems, his wife had died of Alzheimers and he himself had some dementia. Yet, he lived for years with this attitude:I am ready to die and I'm not afraid of it. When he finally did pass, it was seen in my family as almost a blessing. My Grandfather endured much the same way, just when they thought he was going to die, he recovered. I miss them all, my Granfather, My uncle, and my cousin, but death is a fact of life whether or not it is "Your Time". As I am not religious, I do not believe entirely in determinism. There are other factors in what happens in life, i.e. freedom of will (which is also up for debate), but things happening because God said so or because it was determined, or pre-determined, is unfounded entirely.

Good point Pappi. I often wonder why it matters whether we have free will or whether everything is planned and laid out before us. So what? Either way, you can't predict the future, you can't relive the past so what difference does it make.
"Ohhh, this or that happened because it was in a master plan and it was going to happen no matter what!"
So what's the big deal?! Even if everything I do doesn't involve fate and it's just a random series of intertwining events...SO WHAT?
I hate it when people throw up this argument anyway, because as you all very well know, I am way more concerned with functionality and action. I don't care much for dead end roundabout arguments that don't change anything no matter who's right or wrong.
