Sushie || "To gain your voice, you must forget about having it heard" -William Ginsberg (73687) When the poll: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1... , closes, start writing on the winning topic, then post your story here.
Requirements: 1-2 pages of anything you use, on the computer, 1.5 or Double spaced, size 10-18

These requirements don't matter too much, but just suggestions for those with questions!

Sushie || "To gain your voice, you must forget about having it heard" -William Ginsberg (73687) Keep in mind, the poll for the theme will be closing tomorrow, and then we write! Keep it short, get to the point, stay with the theme, and above all, have fun! Post your stories on here when you're finished, then I will put them in the poll. Anyone can post their stories after November 30th, but they will not get their story voted on.
If you have any questions, please let me know, thank you and have lots of writing fun!
Also, you can find the poll on either the group home page or in the polls

You can do anything by writing.
-C.S. Lewis

Sushie || "To gain your voice, you must forget about having it heard" -William Ginsberg (73687) Hello! I know we have a lot going on! XD I guess I could have been a little better at planning this and all. But even if you are doing the writathon... well, you could use that time to write your short story, I guess!
So I just wanted to remind you all that this was a thing because there is a lot going on in this group right now.
Also, I think we won't do a competition next month, we'll do them every once in a while, to give ourselves a break.
I will also add a "Dates For Short Story Competitions" for you guys to suggest dates you would like to do this! (And I will post this on the "Short Story Competition Rules" topic)

Sushie || "To gain your voice, you must forget about having it heard" -William Ginsberg (73687) Natalie/Sushie: Lies

Ren snatched Razel’s wrist and pulled her back, shoving her against the bark of a tree barely visible in the dark sky. She didn’t miss the way Razel’s dark brown hair was cut jaggedly short, or the fury in her glare, or the way Razel fought against her grip in vain.
“Fine! Run. Starve. That’s your choice.” Ren snapped with darkness dripping off her tongue.
Razel barked a laugh and stopped fighting for a second to look Ren in the eye. “What makes you think I’ll starve?”
“I’m the only one who’s been keeping you alive. If you leave, where will you get food? And shelter?”
“No!” Razel pulled her wrist free with a yank. “I don’t need you to survive. ” Razel said the last word with spite as she revealed the hand she had kept behind back, a glint danced off of something in her hand. “After years of lies, I finally know the truth, mother. And you can’t win. Not now, not ever. Razel spun around, and slid the knife against Ren’s neck, backing her up against the trunk with a brooding smirk. “The tables have turned on you.”
“Oh have you now? What ‘truths’ have you learned?” Ren returned a smirk, but her hands held on to the tree bark as if for dear life. Her breathing was steady, yet her eyes wild.
“It’s nothing really… just who my real mother is. And how she loves me more than a rompel. I doubt you can say as much.”
“Can’t I?” Ren steadied her voice as much as she possibly could, tilting her head up with an aura of power. “It seems the tale you’ve been told is backwards.”
“Really…?” Razel’s voice caught and she swallowed hard. “No! This is another trick! Another lie! And to think I had almost believed you… you were right, earlier, when you called me naive. But not anymore, I won’t fall for any tricks. I’m over that!”
“If that’s so, then you won’t believe me when I say it was your real mother who gave you up for a flower. She loved it so much more than she could have loved anything else. So when she had a child, I stole her. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I had known that I’d let that child be raised in such a home. I swore I would protect you…” Ren’s eyes stung with the tears that she had spent hours learning how to shed on command. And Razel’s eyes flickered with longing for that to be true. Ren didn’t miss it. And she knew that meant Razel wanted to stay. More than she would ever admit.
“If you cared for me that much, you would let me go.”
Ren nodded then and Razel lowered her knife slowly, turning away as she threw the sharp point to the ground. Ren spun off the tree and snatched up the knife, backing Razel against the bark one more time. “What was it you said? ‘You can’t win. Not now, not ever’?” Ren grinned proudly at her next words. “Well I have news for you, missy: The tables have turned.”

Sushie || "To gain your voice, you must forget about having it heard" -William Ginsberg (73687) Side note, I won't be here until December, so if my moderators would please update the polls with any other stories, thank you!

Sushie || "To gain your voice, you must forget about having it heard" -William Ginsberg (73687) And I will give the competition another week, in case we have more stories!

Ahh I would love to join this, it sounds so fun!! I'm not sure I'll be able to finish in a week, but I'll try!

Sushie || "To gain your voice, you must forget about having it heard" -William Ginsberg (73687) That would be so fun! I hope you can finish!
If you can't, we're doing another for Christmas break! I just opened up the poll on what the theme should be.

Oh okay cool!!

Sushie || "To gain your voice, you must forget about having it heard" -William Ginsberg (73687) Just so everyone's clear, you can still post stories, but they won't be voted on! But if you were so close to done, or you had a great idea, or you want to share, whatever the reason, you still can!
