What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

This book is from 2000 or later. I think the author was male, but I don't remember. A high school girl goes to a party, gets drunk (I think on purpose, but I'm not positive) and ends up in a situation with a teenage boy, possibly the party host, but again, I'm not sure.

The father sees the daughter's condition; he exacts revenge on the boy and injures him pretty severely. Can't remember if the boy loses an eye or what, but it affects his sports prospects, etc. There are criminal proceedings.

Anyone remember this?

Finally found the book. Breaking Her Fall, by Stephen Goodwin. I was a little off in my details, though. Looking forward to a re-read.
