New feature! I'm instituting this in every group I moderate.
I want to try to quash these long intervals where no one in a group has much of anything to say.
Now, this group is not one of those bubbly, effervescent, koffee-clatches where the mods send out invites and 'book challenges' and 'group reads' and 'polls' every few days (I hate that!),
But I do think we should try to keep a couple conversations going. And here's how we're gonna do it.
Every week, yours truly will simply **pick a person at random** from our group to tell us a little about whatever book they're reading. I'll simply scroll through our member list to see "who's-reading-what" (hopefully it will be a manly, two-fisted, espionage book).
Then, I will invite them to Q-&-A with me here in a thread. Maybe just 5 questions or so. Perhaps I will make a shelf for these little 'fireside chats'.
Later, maybe others can step in. Something like, 'Janet and Steve are going to ask each other what they're reading--go to it you two'
Anyway so...if you wind up in the 'Hot Seat'...take it with good grace! Its all for the best!
