I preordered mine so it arrived yesterday and it's gorgeous! This series lucked out with amazing cover art and they all match so well. But it's like 550 pages 😬

Marissa Meyer's covers are always fantastic!

Oh man, 550 ain't even that bad these days, YA fantasy/scifi can get hella long! The Toll which just came out is over 600 pages 😱

It's long when you're in the middle of several books you got behind on haha

(view spoiler)[I know that Adrian's dads are the good guys and they mean well, they want the best for the world etc. but I've honestly been pretty pissed at them since the last book when the Agent N thing began. They're so freaking self-righteous, and now they're so desperate to hold onto power that they agreed to execute someone on a whim just to cover up their own f*ck-up.

Like I get that they're good people and they're just doing their best, but my goodwill towards them is all but gone at this point. Good intentions only get you so far.

(view spoiler)[The fact that Nova isn't more angry should be a dead giveaway that she's actually guilty though. I know that if my boyfriend threw me in jail using circumstantial evidence and I was actually innocent, I would not be forgiving him this easily or possibly ever 😂 (hide spoiler)]

So envious of you having this. Not sure why, but UK release seems to have been pushed back to March 2020! Still, something to look forward to...

Okay I'm up to Chapter 11 and I have a lot of thoughts

First of all, OMG ADRIAN FINALLY KNOWS NOVA IS NIGHTMARE!!!

But let me backtrack

If I wasn't enjoying one of the 3 days a year it's nice enough to sit outside in read in Florida I would have been screaming at Adrian's group about how dumb they're being! They're trying to figure out what extremely short, sleep-controlling, recently joined girl could have possibly infiltrate the Renegades and it's like really guys???? At least Callum isn't too blind to figure it out

I was hoping we'd see Narcissa again. Her power is very cool. And I'm not even mad at her for blackmailing the Anarchists because she's not wrong and I felt bad for Danna being stuck as a swarm

I'm wondering if Nova will find a way to use Ace's helmet

My ending prediction is that everyone in the world ends up neutralised somehow, probably using the bracelet since it's related to the supernova energy or whatever. Because I don't see any other way we're going to get any amount of peace after all this. (hide spoiler)]

Ok so first of all, my prediction was like almost correct for a few seconds there, I'll take it \o/

Also, I love that I've spent the last 2.9 books being like "Wow, this whole 'one cannot be brave who has no fear' thing is really pretentious and edgy." but now it makes complete sense because it's literally from a child's comic book 😂

I wasn't that surprised that Ace had his family killed, it just makes sense. I WAS shocked that Magpie is Evie though, that was a good one! I love a good book-end with that narration :D

I never really matured past my cynical edgy teen phase, so I'm actually not mad at the story ending on such an ominous note. Also, after all the moral complexity presented in this series, it would have been ridiculous to have a 100% happy ending, it just wouldn't be in the spirit of the story. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I was hoping for the story to be wrapped up a bit slower like in TLC but I guess this quick wrapup is more in the vein of superhero movies so I don't mind that much. I like how similar to TLC, this one also had a 'life goes on' kind of ending. (hide spoiler)]

Also (view spoiler)[I'm cackling at my Chapter 34 comment. Apparently I was so shocked that I completely forgot what Adrian's superpower was for a second there 😂 (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 31

(view spoiler)[ When Adrian visited Nova in jail I couldn't believe that she was keeping up the charade that she was innocent. I didn't realize the author was going to use that to get her out of jail like 20 pages later. They had so many reasons not to believe that Narcissa was Nightmare and were just like "oh well, let Nova out of jail without investigation." Like they just make rash decisions (many based on the opinions of teenagers) and use them to drastically change, or possibly end, other people's lives. No wonder so many people hate the Renegades. I don't know if it's supposed to add tension, but it's just reading as filler and honestly annoying me. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 22: (view spoiler)[What a clever plan to get Nova out of prison! Now the Renegades all believe Nightmare is someone else. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 9 (view spoiler)[I wondered when I saw the mirror writing and was fairly sure it was the granddaughter after hearing about the dresser in QB's old room. I get why she is upset though. (hide spoiler)]

That's the worst! I preordered a few from Barnes & Noble and they didn't even ship them out until the end of release day. Amazon gets them to me on time but they don't pack books safely at all 😒

Yeah the day before the release suddenly it says that I won't be getting it until the 12-16th. So I go to cancel the order and figure I'll just go buy in person at the bookstore and they tell me its too close to shipping. Books didn't ship until a week later. At least they arrived in good shape.

I see what you mean about updating a lot, so many little things happen all at once.

Ch. 36

I forgot to mention the reveal that Adrian created Phobia 🤯 and that I felt so bad for Winston after his story.
Their plan to get to Ace was cool and creative with the bees hidden in the cranes, but I'm mad that they used Agent N to neutralize whatever Renegades they could. So hypocritical!
I'm sad Callum is dead, I liked his character, and I feel bad for Winston but at least he is at peace now. Can Phobia and Genissa just freaking kill each other!
I've never liked Ace, and I hate that he is willing to sacrifice his own people just for revenge now that he's free. I'm surprised Nova got him to stop, but there is still a third of the book left so...
Adrian has revealed himself! But it doesn't seem to have changed Nova's feelings for him at least

I love Oscar so much. When he saw Adrian and Nova together and said "So we're doing this again?" I probably laughed loud enough to wake my neighbors up.

Not surprised that Ace had Nova's parents killed. He is literally the least trustworthy person in existence and only treated Nova as someone useful, not loved. If it wasn't for Adrian creating Phobia, Nova's parents would still be alive. I'm surprised they didn't really bring that up.

I suspected that Max would end up neutralizing everyone, which is how I would have preferred the book ended, but I didn't think he was going to turn into Oprah and give everyone powers. But I guess since they would need powers to have a spin off series I get it.

OMG THAT EPILOGUE! I can't believe Magpie is Evie! I don't like her so I wouldn't be too excited for a spin off from her perspective, but I can't imagine anyone saw that coming (hide spoiler)]

Marissa Meyer is such a brilliant author. Uhh, I couldn't get my hands on the book until last Friday.

I want a whole unicorns and rainbows book with Nova hanging out with Evie. Though I might internally die from happiness, so a spin-off book is probably our best bet.

Can't wait to get started!!

Chapter 7: (view spoiler)[ Wow! This is tense. Nova is going to get busted anytime now. The suspense is huge seeing as the build-up to the big reveal of their alter egos lasted two whole books. I'll shamefully admit that I found the part where it happens and am counting down the pages I have to go! I bet Supernova will be every bit as good as the other two books! It better be! :)

Adrian punching his own reflection was pretty funny, thinking it was Nightmare. He isn't all that bright sometimes! He still hasn't worked out who Nightmare is. Duh Doi it's so obvious man!! I mean he loves and trusts her so it would be hard to believe. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 11: (view spoiler)[ Yay!! Reached the big reveal. Adrian actually arrested Nova. He really does hate Nightmare.

I feel like Magpie us going to have a more important role in this book instead of just randomly appearing and disappearing from the plot with not much connection to the main characters. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 16 (view spoiler)[ Hang on! Adrian would never ever call the Renegades a dictatorship in his right mind! I know he is a bit disillusioned and depressed but still!!!! It seems a bit out of character.

Ugh, imagine dying by Genissa's hand. How horrible.

I would be disappointed if Nova hadn't said she was innocent. It makes her still villainous and selfish. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 29 (view spoiler)[ I know one chapter later, but WHAT??!! Adrian made Phobia. I didn't see that coming. Also, Turbo's death of sorts was really sad! I liked Turbo.

I didn't actually expect how the metal of Nova's braclet and Ace's helmet to be that well explained. I like that it was made from the energy of a supernova. This is getting to be really, really interesting. Love that Adrian made Phobia. Plot twist!!!

Chapter 42 (view spoiler)[ Guess Hugh really is entirely invincible. Honey is really horrible. Much worse than in the first two books. I am surprised all of Adrian's team lost their powers. (hide spoiler)]
