Regina mentioned in a message last month that she'd be starting the book around the 10th, by the way.

Yes, sorry to just now be checking in. I’ve been ill.

Veronica, is a start date of around the 10th okay for you? That should give us lots of time to finish before the end of the month. I’m looking forward to revisiting this novel.

I am still reading this because I suck at buddy reads. Is anyone else reading?

I know the book starts out slowly and is kind of confusing, but the action picks up once the Bundrens set out for Jefferson. It’s totally fine if y’all gave up, though. I guess I’m asking so that I know if I should try to push through quickly or can go at my own pace and just finish when I finish. :)

I only read to the start of Darl's chapter, in between the Anse and Peabody chapters, so about 15% of the book.

It was moving a little too slowly for me, so I put it aside without marking it as DNF. I was also reading The Lost Man at the time; two slow books were more than I could bear.
Will you continue reading the book through December? If you will, I will.
This thread will remain open until 31 Dec...

Yes, I am still reading, but don’t feel obligated if you’re not feeling it.
