Jennifer (JenIsNotaBookSnob) (jenisnotabooksnob) | 11 comments I have a significant amount of books I need to read. I have trouble looking past a good deal on a book and so have too many unread books. I will be starting with my worst category which is juvenile chapter books. I have an 8 year old daughter and I worked in the children's section of the library. Thus, I've collected a lot of juvenile fiction.
My major categories are:
Juvenile Fiction: approximately 331 owned books of which 107 are read and 224 that I still need to read. (These are all chapter books, the shortest ones are still usually at least 100 pages)
Adult Classics: 95 owned books, 4 completely read. (In my defense, I read a lot of classics on my Nook because it's more convenient for reading in bed. But, time to read the physical books.) 91 to be read.
Vintage Juvenile Fiction (chapter books): 71 owned, 37 read, 34 to be read.
Graphic Novels: 51 owned, 30 read, 21 TBR.
Adult Fiction: 46 owned, 28 read, 18 TBR
Adult Nonfiction: 19 owned, 4 read, 15 TBR
YA Fiction: 13 owned, 10 read, 3 TBR

Total owned: 626 (I didn't include any of my owned picture books, there's probably another 200 in that category at least, but, they are all read anyways other then perhaps 5 or so. )
To be Read: 406

Jennifer (JenIsNotaBookSnob) (jenisnotabooksnob) | 11 comments I read Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great this morning. Not sure if it counts or not since I finished it this morning before I posted my topic. Right now I am reading Ozma of Oz. I will intersperse my adult classics in between- my next adult classic read is going to be Homer's Odyssey. I own the 54 volume set of Great Works of the Western World- I've read parts of it, but, not enough to mark any book completely read. Now I will just read it in order for the sake of saving some time. :)

Jennifer (JenIsNotaBookSnob) (jenisnotabooksnob) | 11 comments Took a break from Ozma and read Freckle Juice. I'm not sure if it's long enough to count, I think that's my shortest book on these shelves. Mine are arranged alphabetically- this shelf contains authors Lloyd Alexander-Beverly Cleary. I really want to have everything on this shelf read in November. There are 49 books on this shelf, I'd only read 9 of them previously. Since October 15th I've read 13 more, so, 27 more to go and then I'll move to my next shelf, Cleary-Hartnett.
2. Freckle Juice

Jennifer (JenIsNotaBookSnob) (jenisnotabooksnob) | 11 comments And now Ozma of Oz is done.
Haven't picked my next book yet, some of the books on this shelf are sequels, so not sure what to do about that when I don't have the first book.
3. Ozma of Oz

Jennifer (JenIsNotaBookSnob) (jenisnotabooksnob) | 11 comments I needed a break from juvenile, so grabbed an unread YA of the shelf above.
4. Endangered
5. Kitten in the Candy Corn
6. Five Go to Smuggler's Top

And, I guess I'm moving on to Pike's Peak.
