Happy New Year to all of our wonderful members! The first featured book for the year 2020 is Destroy All Monsters by Sam J. Miller.

Miller is a Nebula-award winning author who is listed as having 60 distinct works. His most recent work, Destroy All Monsters is described as a genre-bending novel that highlights the importance of friendships.

Have you read anything by this author before? What are your expectations for this novel?

message 2: by Christine (new) - added it

Christine | 142 comments I have not read anything by Sam J. Miller before. The premise sounds strange. While the plot is not the same, the bizarreness reminds me of The Apocalypse of Elena Mendoza, which I read for another book club earlier this year. I am intrigued by the message about the life-saving power of friendship and by the LGBT genre tag.

Kristen | 166 comments I've never read anything by Miller before, either. I'm not sure what to expect from this book. It's surprisingly massive for what seems like a relatively short story (at least on the surface.) Honestly it sounds quirky to the max, so I'm not sure I'll like it, but we shall see.
