Lark Benobi (larkbenobi) | 731 comments As usual, reviews in The Guardian and The New York Times were both useful starting points for me. I do tend to read brief reviews before I read the book, as a way to orient myself.

Thanks for providing these links.

Bretnie | 838 comments I'm about halfway through the novel and can't decide what I think.

I'm intrigued by the unique format, but at the same time finding it slow. It reads like a memoir, which is one of my least favorite genres. But it's also an important story to tell. I will finish it and I appreciate the story for what it is, but it's not one I've been excited to pick up.

Sam | 451 comments I did not join the discussion because I read this last year but for those that liked it, you might wish to read Pen Award winner Call Me Zebra which is also by an Iranian female émigré. I found the two books, while different, interesting to compare.
