In school we are reading The Hobbit. As one of our assignments we had to write an eight line poem about either Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, or the dwarves. The poem has to follow the pattern AABB or ABAB. I want to see what other people come up with.

..To perhaps inspire {make one think!}, take a look at the Rhyme of Lore that was sung by Gandalf to himself as he and Peregrin Took rode to Minas Tirith after Pippin had gazed into the palantír?! (The tale tells of the Númenoreans, led by Elendil, who escaped the destruction of Númenor; it was preserved by the Dúnedain, and goes as such:)
Lyrics ~
Tall ships and tall kings
Three times three,
What brought they from the foundered land
Over the flowing sea?
Seven stars and seven stones
And one white tree.
