Seriously, I have read both books and honestly I hate Jethro, his family are murderers (killing her mum & who knows how many others) but he's just going along with the eventual murder of this girl also? In the meantime he strips her naked & allows his dirty old father, both his brothers & 20 or so other men to sexually assault her repeatedly. Plus he whips her back raw so her back is bleeding & cut, yeah I want to see how his character is redeemed in the following books because he's a complete immoral sicko so far. It's gonna have to be pretty good for me to sway away from hating his character. Also, I'm going to keep reading because I really want to see Nila stick it to him & his family.

My only problem so far is Nila isnt doing anything to fight back. No planning, searching or asking questions. She's taking what she's given and wallowing and finally steeling herself against the tournament. How is that supposed to stop the Hawk family? It sounds like she has already given up but not wanting to let them break her before she dies. Its making it a lackluster read, and could have been made darker with some sort of actual fight on her side.
