WOW, our 2015 book, The Cerulean's Secret, just won the New York City Big Book Award for Science Fiction.

I try everything to promote our books (as you probably know, my husband Dennis Meredith is the Author and I Joanne Meredith do the marketing) This group is so helpful in encouraging indies. This past year I have been entering our books in award contests. Yes, it is time consuming and sometimes costly, but Carole is so right about what an award can do for your books.

I continue to enter awards, and as you can see they do not have to be the newest releases.

Now I am working very hard on getting an agent. Dennis just got a contact with an agent he met at the La Jolla Writer's Conference. But we know that just because they asked for the manuscript is not a commitment. Dennis will be going to several writer's conferences in the next couple of months.

Apparently agents like to meet authors face to face, which is one of the reasons they go to these conferences too.
