But I feel really bad for Flint. He just comes across a bumbling, clumsy, grumpy old fart. We need some Flint awesomeness soon.

I also always loved Tasselhoff, he'sjust such a fun character.
On this reread I am really enjoying Tanis. Even though he is a bit emo mooning over missed opportunities for romance. :)

I honestly forgot how much I liked Tas. As a kid I always thought he was the fun character and I loved that about him. But I have to say reading that scene where he met up with Tanis and Flint and the goblins...he was a little badass! Something that I never noticed before was the image of Tas without a weapon drawn staring down the goblin and "without ever losing the innocent, childlike expression on his face" throws a dagger and kills him. That no fear characteristic of the Kender makes a really cool character.
I liked Tanis as a kid too. I liked the leader of the group. But I'm noticing now just how brooding he is. the emo comment made me chuckle Lisa.
But Raist...still my favorite. But I wonder if that is because of what I learned about him as the books and series go on. I was trying to imagine his appearance in the Inn and how freaky that must be with those hourglass eyes and gold skin. Also what would it look like to see through his eyes?

I love Tas and Flint’s relationship so much, too. They never fail to make me laugh!

Raistlin is still my favorite.

I'm enjoying Tas more this time through.

I'm behind on my reading, but I just read that description of Tas yesterday and remembered why I loved him as a teenager. I had to read that whole part aloud to my teenagers, who weren't as enthused as I was. Part of it is the memories involved, but also... it's somehow refreshing to pick up a book that's just trying to stuff as many cool, fun fantasy "things" as it can into the story. You can almost sense the fun that Weis and Hickman must have been having as they came up with it.

I also like Tas and Flint. There is some fun interplay between the two characters. Tanis seems a bit... overwrought, I guess is the word.

Yes, I'd forgotten about his maps. I also love maps and have a bunch of them. I just got the latest rand-mcnally atlas, too. *pushes nerd glasses up*
For those of us who have never read the books does any character stand out as a potential favorite at this point? Still too early to say?
