The Time Thieves (ᴀ ʀᴏʟᴇᴘʟᴀʏ) discussion

This is the generic college campus of any college-aged students, or teachers, for that matter, who may be participating in this roleplay. Take it away!

Alexia walked around, bored.

Derek stood in the corner of the courtyard and lit his cigarette.

Alexia saw him and walked over. "Hello."

"Hey," Derek said, taking a drag of his cigarette.

"Quitting isn't working out to well, huh?" Alexia asked.

Derek shrugged. "I'm improving. Got down to a pack a week."

Alexia raised her eyebrows. "Good for you."

"Good for me," Derek sighed. "Oh - I have something for you. Let me see..." he began rummaging around in his bag. When he pulled his hand out, he was holding a copy of the book Alexia had talked about. "Is this the bluish book you were having trouble remembering?" Derek asked hopefully.

Alexia grabbed it from him excitedly. "Yes! Where'd you find it?"

Derek sheepishly pushed some of his hair back. "The Book Depot. They had a few copies out back. Mind you, I had a hell of a time finding it. "

"Thanks," Alexia said, giving him a quick hug. "This is awesome!"

Derek's eyes widened at the contact. "Y-you're welcome?"

Alexia laughed at him. "Calm down. It's not like I kissed you."

"I'd be even more surprised if you had. Cigarette breath isn't exactly a turn-on," Derek said.

"I'd imagine," Alexia said, grinning. "Thanks again for the book."

"Any time," Derek replied.

Alexia smiled at him. "No, really. I can pay you back."

Derek shook his head and took another drag from his cigarette. "Completely and totally unnecessary."

"Okay," Alexia said. "If you insist."

"I do," Derek said, puffing out smoke.

Alexia smirked. "I knew you were going to say that."

"Curse my chivalry," Derek teased. Another puff.

Alexia laughed.

"I hope you enjoy your book," Derek said. He put out his cigarette and threw it in the trashcan beside him.

"So do I," Alexia said.

Derek nodded and pushed his hair back again. "It would be kind of awkward if you didn't. For me, at least."

"Yeah," Alexia said. "I'm going to go read it now, actually. Bye."

Derek waved, sitting down where he was in the grass to start a new drawing.

Alexia walked away, humming to herself.
