Now that you've finished the reading for week two any changes to your feelings and thoughts about your favorite character(s)? Anyone you despise at this point?

message 2: by Tamara (new)

Tamara | 9 comments As I said earlier in the week, Tas is currently my favorite because he has MAPS! I also picture him as a skinny thing about 3 feet tall. Laughed so hard when he was the fake dragon. So far no one I despise. But still not feeling the Raistlin love.

WS_BOOKCLUB (wittyandsarcasticbookclub) | 43 comments Riverwind is annoying me at this point. I don't have any particular reason, he just bugs me.

For me Raist has always been my favorite not because he's a great guy, but because of his complex character which I admit comes out more as the series goes on, especially in the next trilogy. I'm curious to see everyone's take on Raistlin after his interaction with Bupu.

I really like Tas. I always thought he was fun but adult me really likes him a lot more. The curiosity, the childlike goodness, his inquisitiveness, and he's kind of a badass.

Riverwind was never a fav of mine. Too stoic, too rigid, but he has his moments.

Tanis is still high on my list. His struggle with leadership is really well played out in the book. He's good at it but it's still a struggle which makes it seem more real.

Fling I'm liking less than I did before. He seems too bumbling. I'm all for the gruff dwarf character but he just seems kinda like he's always stumbling around and into things.

Lisa (waytoofantasy) | 22 comments I also am annoyed by Riverwind. He had a really weird sudden change of tone for a moment when he and Goldmoon got into it after they discovered their village was destroyed. Sometimes I'm just not feeling their relationship at all tbh lol.

Raistlin is still my fave, even more so after Bupu. He *is* the most complex which makes him more compelling. He has multiple things going on and is battling with selfish needs against the needs of others. It makes for interesting reading.

I'm liking Tanis a little bit more, he has been slightly less emo (and Sturm seems to have become slightly more emo). I also continue to love Tas. He comes up with unconventional solutions to problems the group faces and even though he is small he is brave and willing to do his part.

Calvin Park | 16 comments I'm remembering how much I really like Tas in this section. He's absolutely great. Raistlin or Tanis are still probably my favorites, but Tas definitely has a special place in my heart.

message 7: by Mary (new)

Mary Drover (marydrover) | 10 comments Tas has definitely taken the lead for me! Lisa said it best with his unconventional solutions--he's just so clever and quick-thinking, and he provides a much-needed joy to the group.

Raistlin is a close second, though, and mostly because of his relationship with Bupu in this section. I totally forgot about it, and was doing a whole lot of squealing over how cute they were.

Riverwind is starting to annoy me, as well. He got very possessive of Goldmoon in a not great way that's different from before, and when she "forgave" him, he had this really eerie smile. No thanks.

But Flint! He makes me giggle every time.

WS_BOOKCLUB (wittyandsarcasticbookclub) | 43 comments I'm glad I'm not the only one who's not a huge fan of Riverwind. Sometimes he gives me the wiggins.

message 9: by Beth (new)

Beth Tabler (scottveg3) | 9 comments Annoyed by Riverwind. Definitely.

Tas is still solidly first in my heart. All the characters have such defined personalities, I can say I like each of them for different reasons. But so far Tas is the most interesting.

message 10: by Paul (new)

Paul | 17 comments Bupu really helps Raistlin’s character for me. Fleshes him out, even though he put that spell over all the gully dwarves.
