Samiksha Bhattacharjee (samiksha23) | 38 comments Hiya. I do drama and go to a drama school and i love singing and drawing too!

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

that's awesome! I've recently graduated with my BA in theatre and English-Writing. I directed my first and last play last semester. Not one I wrote mind you.

message 24: by Samiksha (new)

Samiksha Bhattacharjee (samiksha23) | 38 comments Lol directing is cool. I prefer on stage or in front the camera rather than backstage tho. Im in London and we say Term rather than Semester

message 25: by Kacie (new)

Kacie other than reading I go to school, practice piano, and hang out with my rabbits.

Samiksha Bhattacharjee (samiksha23) | 38 comments But r u planning to go down the drama career?

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Slytherin_Forever23 wrote: "But r u planning to go down the drama career?"

Yes, but I want to write plays rather than star in or direct them.

Samiksha Bhattacharjee (samiksha23) | 38 comments Kacie wrote: "other than reading I go to school, practice piano, and hang out with my rabbits."

Lol, i go to school too. Year 8 is cool coz u dont hv to worry about GCSE's too much. If u dont know what that is, u r definetely american.

message 29: by Kacie (new)

Kacie haha no i don't think i know about GCSE's. what is it?

message 30: by Samiksha (new)

Samiksha Bhattacharjee (samiksha23) | 38 comments I typed up How to explain GCSE to an American and this came up:

GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) – formerly known as O-levels. A single-subject exam taken upon completion of two years of study at the age of 16 (age at US 10th grade). Students take anywhere between 5-10 subjects, which, if passed, are generally considered equivalent to a US high school diploma.

Its far harder than a high school diploma tho, and most ppl take around 8 subjects, even tho im planning on 12 subjects. Max is 14, but nobody takes that many. I suppose u take it at the end of Sophomore year for americans? When u r 15 or 16.

message 31: by Kacie (new)

Kacie we take the ACT and/or SAT. Maybe that's what you're referring to. i think it's like junior year

message 32: by Samiksha (new)

Samiksha Bhattacharjee (samiksha23) | 38 comments Actually, the SAT exam would be halfway thru the British exams of GCSE and a-levels. A-Level is in Yr13, or Senior year. So, GCSE is in sophomore but a-level is in senior. SAT is junior, or yr12, and there is no equivalent in uk

message 33: by Kacie (new)

Kacie oh ok

message 34: by Samiksha (new)

Samiksha Bhattacharjee (samiksha23) | 38 comments Complicated, right? Lol. I read all about american schooling and still cant get my head around everything.

message 35: by Kacie (new)

Kacie ikr? so you said you live in London then?

message 36: by Samiksha (new)

Samiksha Bhattacharjee (samiksha23) | 38 comments Yup. Heart of the UK. Red buses and everything

message 37: by Samiksha (new)

Samiksha Bhattacharjee (samiksha23) | 38 comments Tbh, most of the buses arent fully red. And u rarely see black taxis. Or cabs if that what americans say. And most british ppl speak in american accents or estuary british, regardless of the (sorry, but true) stupid british accents americans mimic, even tho nobody speaks like that other than the Queen, and i doubt that too.

message 38: by Samiksha (new)

Samiksha Bhattacharjee (samiksha23) | 38 comments And i hate tea, so british pll dont always drink tea.

message 41: by Samiksha (new)

Samiksha Bhattacharjee (samiksha23) | 38 comments Its not that different to america, but i suppose where in europe u r talking about.
