Many have a twist ending, which I enjoy. I also like when authors of an ongoing series will write a short story featuring a side character giving readers a chance to get to know that character better.
Wow. I just did that so appreciate hearing it. My books, The Senior Sleuths have a character I put in book of short stories with recipes.I wrote the stories, my son created the recipes.
