I would like to develop a list of resources that anyone can use outside of what we come up with here. So if you come across books, articles, websites etc., please share.

There's also the Read-Aloud Handbook which has been out for decades now. I went to the library to check it out, and my library doesn't have it...at all. What??? Grrrrrr!

Hey, Listen to This! (Stories to Read Aloud)
Edited by Jim Trelease

I checked this book out from a school library I substituted at yesterday. This book is written by the same author who wrote The Read-Aloud Handbook.

Here's what the back of the book says:
"...Trelease brings together 48 read-aloud stories that parents and teachers can share with children ages 5 thru 9. His choices range from folktales, to classic favorites from Roald Dahl (James and the Giant Peach), E.B. White (Charlotte's Web), Beverly Cleary (Ramona the Pest), C. S. Lewis (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) and L. Frank Baum (Ozma of Oz). In addition, Trelease has written a special introduction to each story and makes suggestions for further reading."
