How I would react to someone being racist: I would firmly reprimand them for it, without using harsh words, and point out the precise language that can be construed as hurtful and why it is not permissible. Presumably if someone has repeated offenses they would be banned from the group (though I'm not sure if a mod has the right to do that). If it is a serious problem, I would also send a pm as well, so as not to keep the conversation entirely public, though it is important that others see that racism will not be tolerated here. How Do I Feel About Bullying?: I hate it, I find it abysmal and have been on the receiving end of it before in my life. I am highly conscientious even of careless comments which may be construed as hurtful even if the author did not intend them to be so. Bullying is a horrible thing.
How Do I Feel About the Saying "Keep Your Friends Close and Your Enemies Closer"?: That's an interesting question. I see and understand the logic behind the saying, and I think it is valuable advice is say, you were a spy, or in a dystopian society, however it is not how I would choose to live my life. I want to be able to be open and honest with everyone (yet do so in a way that cannot be seen as overtly judgmental or critical of others who do not share my same beliefs). I don't want to have to live a covert life and approach others with an initial friendliness that has the potential to blossom or simply to fall into polite acknowledgment depending on how we get along.
How Do You Feel About Revenge:
Ehh...I can understand why people feel that revenge is so important, but honestly isn't it better to just live and let live? That isn't to say that I don't think unjust actions should not be brought to justice, however I feel that embracing even an unloving society with love can make you a happier person. I know I'm starting to sound like a mega pacifist (I'm not), but this has proven to me to be one of the happiest ways to live life. I did the angry thing for a while and all that does is wear you out.
How Would You Deal With Someone Being Jokingly Rude?
In private, between friends/partners/family with whom you have an understanding, sure I believe it to be fine, as long as everyone is aware it is a joke. However, on the internet and through text where body language is absent, something that may seem jokingly rude can actually be extremely hurtful, so don't do it.
okay.
1. my way of reacting to racism is that i would only give one warning and if they keep doing it i would not talk to them.
2. i know the feeling of bullying because i was bullied in 5th grade so i would get mad at someone if they started to bully someone
3. it is actually very good advice to people and if you keep your enemies closer you can eventually be friends with them.
4. i dont believe in revenge i never even liked the word.
5. if they were being cruel with jokes... i would not be happy because i like jokes but not those jokes.
thnk you for giving the time to answer these questions!
