The manors courtyard, it is a very peaceful setting except the occasional sightings of shadows.

Two teenagers were standing in the middle of the giant building's courtyard. One of the teenagers, Mathew, was tall and skinny. He tilted his head to the side and whistled. "Niicee...." He murmured and stuffed his hands into his pockets after dragging his suitcase to his side. The other teen was a short girl with long brown hair and ice-blue eyes. "I suppose it is rather impressive." She agreed and hoisted her backpack on her shoulder.

Finley had stopped at her room at she had spent time with Maria in the Ballroom. Sadly though her brother wasn't in their shared room, troubled by the disappearances, Finley went searching for him. She had searched most of the rooms on the premise, though avoiding any with dark auras coming from them. She eventually made her way out to the courtyard. She gazed around and huffed when she couldn't find her brother. She noticed the two teenagers and watched with mild interest. It was obvious they had just arrived to Cataclyst Manor because they carried their bags at their sides.

Matt looked around and then stretched before he wrapped his arm around Elfie's waist. "Were're gonna have so much fun!" He said cheerfully. Elfie rolled her eyes out leaned her head on his shoulder. "I suppose, but don't do anything stupid." She replied coolly but in a teasing manner. Matt placed his other hand over his heart. "You wound me with your words, milady!" He cried dramatically.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

The boy was funny enough, Finley thought with a chuckle at him dramatics. Either they were very good friends or a very cute couple, either way they piqued her interest, which was quite rare. Well it was rare that the living interested her. She was so use to conversing with the deceased and learning their stories, that living beings never intrigued too much.

The cancer inflicted girl gazed at them, though realized she was staring and so gazed around the courtyard for someone to talk to. Though she was more interested in finding someone dead to talk to, possibly someone who has seen her brother.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Matt noticed the girl and tilted his head. She seemed interesting, he put on a charming smile and walked over. "Well, hello there." He said and held out his hand. "Mathew Klington, at your service." He bowed slightly and smirked. Elfie watched him with a raised eyebrow. She sighed and kept staring at the old building. The rose vines creeping up on the cream-coloured walls. The wooden frames of the doors and windows. To put it simply, the sight was breathtaking.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Finley met his gaze and tilted her head slightly. "Hello." She replied, not giving her name or hand. "Do you need help finding the check in desk?" She asked paying no mind to his antics. She wasn't amused by them in the least, well that and she wasn't one to grow squeamish around males. She waited for his smirk to fade away, she didn't need his services at the moment at least.

message 8: by [deleted user] (last edited Nov 22, 2014 06:21AM) (new)

He kept his smirk on his face and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "Yes please darlin'. Since someone doesn't want to." He said tilting his head to the side. He was met with a cold glare by his friend. "Leave her alone," she said coldly and returned her gaze to the courtyard once more.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Finley pursed her lips when he wrapped his arm around her and two young started singing by a tree K.I.S.S.I.N.G. and then snickered. "Oi shut up you two." She snapped at them knowing she probably sounded crazy.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Elfie turned her head slightly and stared at the girl with a raised eyebrow. "You alrigh'?" The Irish girl asked. Matt just laughed. "She's adorable!" He chuckled and pinched her cheek gently. He didn't have any boundaries mostly because no one taught him about them.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Finley rolled her eyes, this was why she wasn't a fan of the living with the exception of her brother. She was about to say she was but in truth she wasn't. Gazing directly at Elfie she said exactly what she thought. "No I'm not alright, I'm fourteen, have cancer, and am drowning in drugs. Oh and I can see the dead, but the drugs the doctors given to me must be the reason for that. So to sum it all up I'm fine." She replied and let out a breath before slapping his hand away from her cheek. "Don't do that." She snapped.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Elfie nodded. "I thought as much," she muttered. A feeling a wash of pity for the girl. She sighed and crossed her arms over her chest, squinting her eyes studying the ancient building. "Oh! She is a feisty one isn't she?" Matt smirked and laughed. The skinny boy pulled the girl closer to him in a side hug. "Cancer, huh? That sucks." He said seriously.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Finley saw the pity pass through Elfie's eyes and frowned. She shrugged figuring she could sneak off when she found herself pressed against the lanky boy's side. Her hand gripped his shirt to keep herself from falling on her face. Though once she heard more pity, she ignored. "I've had it since I was seven, I don't need pity from a perfect stranger. Heck I don't even expect it from people who do know me."

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

"Wow, you have cancer and attitude. Nice." Elfie said sarcastically and turned around and headed inside. "Don't annoy her, and come see me inside once you've done being an arse." She called to Matt over her shoulder. Matt smirked and stared at Finley. "Okay, if you don't want pity I won't give it to you." He said cheerfully.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Finley rolled her eyes and smiled up at Matt with an approving nod. "Good, so may I ask what brings you here?" She asked and tilted her head. By now she had grown accustom to his arm around her and didn't pay any mind to it.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

"Well!" He started off cheerfully and leaned against her. "A break from all the drama in the dance school." He shuddered and wiped his brow dramatically. "Honestly..." He shook his head sadly. "And you?"

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

"I'm here with my brother, he's here investigating disappearances that have occurred in the past. Though I'm here to help him with the witnesses." Finley replied. "So you're a dancer and a dramatic one at that." She then directly the conversation back towards him.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

"Ya have a brother? A detective? LIKE SHERLOCK HOLMES? Awesome!" He laughed and poked her in her side. "Is it nice to have a brother?" He asked as he kept poking her. "Why yes, yes I am. And a good dramatic dancer at that!" He smirked.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

"Yes I do have a brother, whom actually looking for at the moment." Finley replied and laughed at the rest of what he said. "Yeah something like that though he specializes in suspected paranormal investigations hence why I'm here. We're sorta like a team." She said with a shrug.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

"Ah! It all makes sense now!" He said with a grin and pinched her cheek again. "I knew you were adorably helpful!" He teased. He pulled away from her and stretched. "So... tel me about yourself little darlin'" He winked.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

As he pinched her cheek again, she swatted his hand away again. "Stop that." She whined and pouted. "Besides it's your turn to me about you." She then added. She ignored his wink not paying any mind to it.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

"Nope." He said and pinched her cheek again. "There's nothing really that special about me- apart from that I am an extraordinary dancer." He boasted and checked his nails. "So, tell me about yourself." He repeated.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Finley swatted his hand away again and pursed her lips. "Oh I'm sure you are." She then teased when he boasted. "I've already told you anything interesting about me." She then added.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

"You are no fun." He rolled his eyes. "Well, I'm Irish. Obviously." He said and tried to look deep in though. What else could he tell this girl. Well, I could tell her about my father that abused me, or about my brother that abandoned me and my mother. He thought to himself. Yeah, right. He replied to himself.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Finley chuckled, but it wasn't directed towards but towards the boys that were behind him making faces at him. "You know they really like making fun of you." She teased and ignored the emotion she saw pass through his eyes. It was none of her business and in all honesty she didn't want to know.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

"Does it look like I give a s**t?" He asked rudely. He really didn't care, he was used to it after all. He smirked at her all traces of hatred and anger had vanished from his eyes. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her towards him.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

His sudden rudeness scared off the young spirits and honestly shocked her as well. She gazed at him and tilted her head at him. When his arm slithered around her waist, pulling her against him, she was confused again. She wasn't sure how to react anymore and the ghost boys appeared again taunting Finley by making kissing faces.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

He gazed at her gently then kissed her forehead. "You smell nice. What deodorant do you use?" He asked and squeezed her slightly. He ignored the shocked look on her face, in fact he laughed at it. "You look weird with the face your pulling." He said as he stepped away releasing her in the process.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Finley's puzzled look turned into a completely shocked one when he kissed her forehead. "Aren't you suppose to ask what perfume I use?" She asked and tilted her head again. Though as he laughed at her she pouted again and crossed her arms over her chest.

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

"Meh, deodorant perfume, same difference." He said with a lazy shrug. He looked at her pouting and snorted. "You're a funny one." He chuckled and stuffed his hands into his pockets after letting his backpack fall to the ground with a soft thump.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Finley smirked slightly and shrugged. "Guess." She cooed referring to her scent. As he called her funny she rolled her eyes. "Uh huh...would you two stop it." She snapped suddenly and turned facing the ghost boys, who jumped slightly and snickered as they fled the scene.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

"Nope.I don't like guessing, it's a waste of my time." He said rudely. And looked at her with an amused smile. "Your weird." He said and poked her in the stomach. He grinned and then turned his back on her, studying the courtyard.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

When he poked her in the stomach, she yelped and jumped. "Oi don't do that." She replied and gazed at his back. She suddenly felt a dark aura nearby and felt sick as it got stronger. She noticed that that the boys that had been taunting them disappeared completely and that the temperature had decreased rapidly. Her eyes widened with fear and before she realized she was doing, she gripped the back of Matt's shirt and cowered against him. The aura was growing stronger and Finley simply buried herself against him in fear.

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

Matt noticed the temperature drop and shivered. "The H***." He muttered and was about to turn around when suddenly felt the girl press against him. "Hey, what's wrong?" He asked his voice surprisingly soft. He turned and enveloped Finley in a gentle yet secure embrace. "It's okay." He said comfortingly, trying to calm her down.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Finley's breathing was coming out irregularly and she trembled slightly. "It's coming closer." She said shakily and saw black edge her vision. As the darkness grew closer, she felt herself grow lightheaded. That was the problem with being a medium, anytime she went near a dark or evil spirit she usually passed out.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Matt held her tightly. "I should take you away." He murmured and looked around frantically. He lifted her up into his arms with ease, quite surprising for a boy that skinny. He walked inside by pushing the door open with his back. He looked down at her with a concerned expression on his face. "You alrigh'?" He asked.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

Finley stayed pressed against him and her skin was ice cold to the touch. As he picked her up she buried her face into his chest, still trembling in fear, even as the presence disappeared. "S-sorry f-for t-this." She stuttered fearfully and slowly relaxed herself. "Y-you c-can put me d-down now." She stuttered again, though she had stopped trembling by now.

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

Matt sat down on the floor his backnto a nearby wall. He held Finly tightly. "Calm down." He muttered feeling a little annoyed and concerned. He breathed out a sigh and closed his eyes. "You freaked out pretty badly. What was that about?"

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

Finley gazed a bit unsure if she should lie or not. She sighed and leaned against him, and decided to tell him the truth. "I'm what you would call a medium. In other words i can see, sense, and speak to spirits that linger in this world." She hesitated to tell him the rest, but knew he had a right to know. "By sense I mean I can tell if they are good, bad, near, or far. The two boys that I snapped at were adolescents about my age they disappeared and in their place was evil....whenever I get really close to those spirits I usually get ice cold and pass out." She didn't meet his gaze and waited for him to tell her she was a nut job and that she had worried him over nothing.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

Matt listened. He didn't feel anything; he wasn't surprised, angry, happy... just - nothing- He opened his eyes and met her gaze with his blank stare. "Okay." Was all he said as he pulled her closer into a hug. He then stared up at the patterned cieling. "Why did they make fun of me?" He asked.

((Sorry for the mistakes. I am on the phone and I am to lazy to check my post.))

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Did her seriously just accept my explanation, no questions ask? The last time anyone did that was Chris. Finley thought as she gazed up at him and was glad to get her mind off things. She chuckled slightly at his question. "They were bored and being childish. They really weren't doing much besides standing behind you and making mocking faces, well that and other things...." Her voice trailed off slightly at the second part.

((It's ok))

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

Matt smirked. "And other things?" He asked teasingly and poked the girl in the shoulder. "Do tell." He grinned wickedly. He had forgotten what the girl had said about being a medium probably because he had a short attention span.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

A faint blush crept onto her cheeks and she shook her head. "It's nothing, just foolish games." She replied quickly. Finley realized she was still on his lap which just made her blush more fiercely. She tried to hide her burning face from his gaze.

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

Matt grinned wickedly and gripped her chin gently and lifted her face so he could see her properly. Seeing her blush he only smirked and pinched her cheek with his free hand. "Oh, did I make the cutie-pie blush?" He cooed, his voice teasing but soft. His eyes gazed down at her and took her in, for a girl with cancer, she was quite a decent looking young lady.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

Finley gazed up at him wide eyed. Though when he pinched her cheek and teased her, she pouted and lifted one of her scrawny arms and swatted his hand away. "Stop it." She whined in complaint. Finley was very thin for her age. Her skin was lightly tanned and by now she had a dark buzz.

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Matt laughed softly and hugged Finley tightly then stood up letting her go. "Well, what do you wanna do?" He asked as he stretched, ignoring the fact that his luggage was still outside. Letting his eyes wonder, he noticed how pretty the I side of the manner was.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

"I'm surprised you don't want to ditch me yet. Since I do seem to be quite a hassle." Finley replied as she gazed at him. She blinked a couple times before smirking faintly. "Beautiful isn't it? My favorite room is one where you wouldn't be welcomed. " she said as if it was common knowledge.

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

"Your bedroom?" He asked then blushed. "That sounded so wrong on so many levels." He muttered and smiled sheepishly. "The library?" He guessed again trying to avoid what he had said but he had said it and what was done was done. It's not like he could travel back in time.

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

"No, gods no...though you aren't allowed there either. It's the ballroom, the spirit that resides there isn't find of males, so I would avoid it." Finley replied and laughed slightly. "You are adorable when you're embarrassed." She then commented.

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

Matt eyes widened and he laughed nervously. "Really? What if I am a dancer?" Her asked and raised an eyebrow arrogantly. But his cocky attitude caused. "Adorable? Please! I. Am. Fabulous!" He said and whipped his 'hair' over his shoulder
