We'll pick up this thread again. How are your favorite characters faring? Anyone moving up the list? Anyone losing points in your book? There are some new characters who've joined the group. I may make a new thread about them.

WS_BOOKCLUB (wittyandsarcasticbookclub) | 43 comments Laurana! I know she bugs a lot of people, but she's one of my favorites. Because she is so naive and sheltered, her character has a ton of opportunity for growth.

Lisa (waytoofantasy) | 22 comments I know Tika isn't new but she's joined the group now. I kind of love her even though she's got a bit of a one track mind.

I'm liking Tanis more and more.

Jonny | 7 comments Raistlin definitely my favourite at this point. He has ambitions and is definitely not a 'Good' character in the same way the rest of the party are (I'd guess he's Neutral in D&D alignment terms). But it was his humanising moment with Bupu that solidified him as my fave.

The introduction of a bunch of new characters is a bit jarring and I found it difficult to connect with any of them. They seemed too much to come out of nowhere and fell a bit flat for me.

It will be interesting to see what you think of some of the new characters as the book (and the series if you read it) goes on. They ARE a little one dimensional at this point though. Except maybe Fizban. There's something definitely different about him.

WS_BOOKCLUB (wittyandsarcasticbookclub) | 43 comments I agree with Jason. It does take a while before the characters become more developed.

I also have a problem with so many new characters all at once, but agree with Jason that they will become more important later in the series.
